I have only used three. The red one did not float and barely glowed. The two green ones floated and we’re bright. I used them on night time scuba dives. It is important to be able to see your dive buddy. The first night with the non functional red glow stick was stressful. (The sticks are attached to equipment at the the person’s shoulder )

Product colors are nice and initial pop is decent brightness but they die out within an hour. One of them wouldn’t light at all.

You're out of battery. No worries. These will light the way. You're under water. No worries, these won't short circuit. You're near a cave or cliff, no worries, drop one of these off the side to make sure you're safe. Great color options. Loved getting these and the plastic pack that keeps them from breaking.

I bought these to put in our tornado shelter for use in the event of an emergency. I believe they are going to be adequate for that purpose.I activated one for testing purposes and it's bright enough to move around with and avoid trip hazards, but it's not sufficient to read by.Having something like this on hand when you are plunged into total darkness is a good option, but is not enough for all lighting needs in an emergency.

These are a heavy duty glow stick. They aren’t small and flimsy like the ones you get from the dollar store. The one pictured was actually more of a true red glow. They are quite bright for the first couple of hours then they start to dim a bit. There was actually some visible glow 12 hours later. These aren’t going to light up a campsite or anything but would definitely be helpful if you need a bit of light or to mark something in the dark. Would also be great for parties and night time events. I am using these for emergency preparedness but may end up using a few for other purposes since they are a good value.
