This is not intended for dogs, regardless of size. The pictures and associated description offer conflicting information. Even the instruction manual refers to buying a different clipper head for use with pets but I haven’t been able to find one. I love the power this has but the clippers that come with it will get very close to the skin. They are very much shears, not trimmers.

Hand grip is bulkier than expected, photo on Amazon gives the impression hand piece is more sleek than actual unit.Heavier than expected, does work good, slower speeds work on matted or finer mohair, easy to adjust blade tension, a good value for the price.

We have a long haired German Shepherd dog. If she mats it is very difficult to use traditional dog clippers to get the mats out. This was perfect, it was a bit loud for her but this did the trick!

We had a few hair sheep who didn't shed out this summer. These sheep shears were easy to use and got the job done for us. Make sure you take care with keeping them lubricated and not allowing them to overheat. Recommend for occasional small flock shearing!
