Due to crushing the original derailleur on one of our e-bikes during a crash, we needed to get a new one. This one was the direct mount version, which is what we needed. It screwed into the frame without issues and we got the chain reinstalled. It does shift gears but not all the way (we have 7 manual gears)…but I can’t blame the derailleur as we’re not bike repair folks so we’ll need to take it in to have it adjusted properly and fine tuned. For now, it’s installed. Since the bike is an e-bike, we can still use the throttle, so we’re not stuck and can use it until we get some time to have a real bike repair person fix it for us. Hey, at least we got it on! It operates very smoothly in the gear we have it set to. There was a lot of damage to the bike during the crash so there may be more going on affecting the entire chain system. So, as far as attaching it to the frame and how smoothly it operates for our situation, I’m pleased with the end result.

This is a standard Derailleur, however I ordered the wrong one. It's typical of what is installed on your average big box store bicycle. It's a good replacement for a faulty unit, but make sure you get the correct style for your bike.
