What is a Door Lock Actuator?
Door lock actuators are an electronic component found on vehicles equipped with power door locks. They are the electronically controlled actuators in every single door that are responsible for locking and unlocking the power door locks when the switches are pressed. In some modern cars, it is built into the door latch. When the electric door lock switch or remote control key button is pressed, the actuator changes from locked to unlocked, and vice versa.
When you lock or unlock the door, the malfunctioning door lock actuator may squeak, rub, click, click, or other strange sounds from your car. A weak or malfunctioning door lock actuator may still be operating the door lock, but you may experience slow and/or intermittent operation of the door lock. This means you need to replace the door lock actuator.

My Drivers door on my 00 F250 Powerstroke would t shut correctly and would open when pulled on from the bottom outside. The door would swing open one time when I was driving and made a left turn. Wife ordered this for me and now stays shut and closes correctly
