This ozone generator has freshened up my garage. The 60,000mg/h capacity tackles pet odors and smoke effectively, covering up to 5,000 sq.ft. The blue design is portable, making it easy to use in my car too. It’s simple to operate, though the ozone smell lingers for a while. A powerful tool for odor elimination!

Like many of us that elect to call the high mountains of the Continental Divide home, each year I go to great lengths to seal every nook and cranny of our old house against the onslaught of Winter.Staying warm while keeping the cost of heating this place within budget does come with a price - stale air and that somewhat dusty / musty smell like that of grandmas old storage trunk (without the mothballs - ugh).I hate that “closed room” smell that comes with living above 11,000 feet and choosing to stay warm over having fresh air (or so I thought).Up here, Winter isn’t over and we will have snow falling well into what the rest of the country calls “Summer”. We have two seasons here.. Winter and July (it snows in July, too).No Spring but I was suffering from Spring fever. The house needed a wholesale air refresh, one that I could facilitate without opening the doors and windows to the elements of Winter still lurking outside.Winter also leads to boredom and boredom leads to creative approaches to problem solving (even the perceived ones).I think the house smells musty but how do I demonstrate that? More importantly, how do I know if my attempts to remedy the problem are successful? Sure, my nose will tell me but that’s entirely too easy,Being the amateur mad scientist my friends tell me I’ve become, I dusted off my trusty air quality monitor and set it to task (I am a true geek in every sense of the word; why else would I have one of these devices just sitting around?).Unsurprisingly, the little black box was unhappy with the interior air quality given the Winterized state of the house. It found that the indoor air quality left much to be desired. I agreed. After doing some homework on my now documented air quality issue, I sought out solutions. One that caught my eye was the use of an ozone generator to dispatch odors while improving overall air quality.I turned to the folks at Amazon and quickly came across the Airthereal DA25 Desktop Ozone Generator. After conducting a little diligence into its capabilities, I ordered it.It was available and its price was budget friendly. If it worked half as good as advertised, it would be worth its weight in gold! It didn’t let me down!Although I don’t like some of the restrictions on use (you can’t be in the room with it when its running nor should you enter the room immediately after a treatment), I understood the basics of its function (think lightning storm) and followed the rules. The DA25 is truly a portable desktop unit (I put it on the floor) and it’s easy to move around. Its lightweight design belies its quality construction.Operation is a breeze. Plug it in, select the cycle mode (it has four from which to choose), dial in the timer, and it does the rest, quietly and efficiently. The on-unit LED keeps track of its cycle time so you don’t need to.The smell of ozone production can be a bit much for some people but you aren’t supposed to be in the room anyway! When the cycle finished, I waited the time required (to avoid any adverse reactions) and only then went inside. The room was changed…the musty / dusty odor present before the ozone treatment had simply vanished. The treated room was once again fresh, like that after the passing of a summer storm. That’s how it works. Lightning creates ozone. Ozone becomes oxygen. Oxygen refreshes and renews. What could be better? It’s a natural approach to dispatching unwelcome smells.Of course, I couldn’t rely on my nose alone and restarted the air quality meter.Even the geeky little analytical device expressed its happiness with the change. It no longer told me that the air in my house was in need of a serious refresh, it indicated the opposite, having changed from red (seriously bad) to blue (good). The Airthereal DA25 Desktop Ozone Generator does its job just as it says.Since my first use of the Airthereal ozone generator, I’ve moved it from room to room, always pleasantly surprised by the remarkable changes it brings to the environment.I wish I had ordered one long before I did.

Overall, this is a powerful and effective ozone generator. In my experience, ozone has been the best solution for eliminating strong, lingering odors even when nothing else works and this unit does the job well. It produces a large amount of ozone, so it’s definitely not something you’d want to use while staying inside. You set it up, turn it on, and leave immediately, as the ozone output is serious and potentially harmful if inhaled. The unit itself is straightforward to use. The controls are simple, and it’s not particularly heavy or difficult to transport, which is a plus. That said, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. It has that typical no-name brand feel, and based on my experience with similar electronics, I don’t have high expectations for long term durability. The plastic and materials used feel cheap and flimsy. However, in terms of functionality, it works well. If you need an ozone generator that gets the job done and are okay with the possibility that it may not last forever, I’d still recommend it.

I recently purchased a vehicle for a good price that had cigarette smoke smell in it. I figured it wouldn't be that difficult to get rid of. I was wrong. I tried cleaning, sprays, leaving the windows open, and other methods. The smell lessened but remained. I picked this up because ozone is apparently the trick for getting an interior to smell nice. This thing sounds wild! Once you turn it on, get away from it. It makes an ominous sizzling sound and the smells that come out of the front are intense. You don't have much time to vacate the area this is operating in. It has a delay when you set the timer, but I really wanted to make sure it was working. Don't do what I do; it's working.I let it run for 30 minutes, let it sit for 30 minutes, then aired out my car for a couple hours. A weird smell remained for a couple days, which worried me because I didn't want to damage the interior of this vehicle because its amazing aside from the smell. Once the smell dissipated, there is no cigarette smell any more. Maybe on a good warm day you might get a hint of cigarette smell but, overall, it's gone.I've used ozone generators before and this one puts them all to shame. It is crazy how powerful this unit it! And it's much smaller than all of the other ozone generators I've used.
