An Intelligent Keyless Entry System which knows the position of the deadbolt and indicates low battery strength, as welll as providing audible feedback to successful locking and unlocking functions.
The Bauer EM is FMVSS206 approved for use in Motorized Vehicles. FMVSS206 is the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard which requires the lock system to possess the necessary strength for motorized vehicle usage. The Bauer EM is supplied with a Strike Plate that must be installed to insure compliance to the standard.
The Bauer EM uses 4 AA batteries for operation. We do not recommend zinc carbon batteries for this application. Batteries not included. Fresh batteries should be installed as necessary. Battery Life is highly dependent upon battery quality, usage, and environment (temperature). Remove batteries if the lock will not be used for extended periods of time.

The button labeled “1|2” is the same button whether the number 1 or 2 is desired. Please note this handle uses Touch Technology. Installed on vintage '94 Thor 30' MH to replace original set that had completely worn out.1 - remove your old lock set and measure the opening. This unit has very little tolerance. Old hole was squared new lock is rounded so there needed to be extra seal put in at the corners.2 - this unit requires the strike plate to be replaced. I had to literally cut the old one out of the frame and weld in a new seat before installing the new strike plate.3 - make sure you have enough clearance for the strike pins and they are lined up when setting the lock. Remember the RV chassis will flex and could cause lock to bind.4 - this is a typical right hinge door. Key is "backwards" to lock (turn CW to lock, CCW to unlock).5 - 4 numbered keys and enter key. Easy enough to set code. To reset you have to remove batteries reinsert and reset code.6 - Touch keys don't work with gloves unless they are capacitive.All-in-all a decent/solid unit. If you aren't handy install could be a challenge.

Installed 5 months ago very easily. Great for the family to come and go and keep the camper lock. Of note took the camper in for service last month and when I pick the camper up after 2 weeks the lock batteries were dead. Not sure something the dealer did or just a short battery life for this device. Otherwise very satisfied with the look and build quality of this lock.

I hate returning purchases so I try to do research first. I wanted to know if it was the correct lock for my RV. No response from Amazon questions so I contacted the manufacturer via it's email contact form. No response. Ordered the lock knowing Amazon would take it back; not my preferred methodology. Removed my RV lock and found that my cut out hole was outside the lock size so I called the manufacturer's number in the materials. Had to leave a message. Did this twice and got no call back. I went forward and installed the lock and it works fine. Their strike plate was a chore to put in but was able to drift mine out and theirs in. One issue with their lock gasket doesn't fully cover and RV people know you don't ever want a leak so I jury rigged a piece of foam and I'll go around the lock with Dicor this summer to seal it well. I rated the manufacturer down for its lack of customer response and not the product. It seems very sturdy and properly made but for the poor gasket.

Been using for several months on our class A motor home. Install took a bit of filing on the RV door to fit but was installed in 30 minutes. Only thing I'd say that was a surprise is that you have to ensure the door is completely closed for it to work. IE: If the door is closed and locked, and.... someone tries to open it - which pulls the door out just a fraction of an inch -- the electric motor on the deadbolt is not strong enough to open the deadbolt. You have to push the door all the way in and enter the passcode again. Other than this small issue, works great and never have to take a key in my pocket to the beach again. The lock uses a beep tone to let you know it has completely locked which is a nice bet of confirmation.

Perfect replacement for my MH. Easy to install and program. I wish it did have the capability to lock the handle verses just the dead bolt, but am really happy with it and it's been installed for a couple months now. Nice not to have to get my keys out every time I enter the RV. Batteries are easily changed out from the inside. I did install the hatch plate as the stock one had a little bit different angle on the lip. Now that was a little more difficult to do and that was not the fault of AP Products, but the RV mfgr. Definitely recommend.Update: 8 25 2018 3 years and going strong. Just ordered another one as a spare. Batteries last from 6 months to a year depending on use of course as well as temperature. I'd recommend using the Lithium batteries as they last longer in my case than Copper Top. I also put an extra key in a secret place just in case. I am loving not having to use a key.

I will start off by saying that this install was custom. I installed this door latch on a bus conversion. So in my case, there were some modifications to be able to install this latch. I will also say that I'm currently using this door latch. So onto the review. The Quality of this doorlatch is not bad. It is made of aluminum and some steel. However, the quality of the keypad mechanism is not worth the $250.00. Right out of the box, the 7|8 key did not work. I was able to get it working but then it quickly stopped working. After several attempts to fix it, I just gave up. There was a short in the wire that goes from the keypad to the module. The instructions say to push and hold two buttons simultaneously to either lock the door or put in a personal passcode. It literally took me an hour and a half to get the personal passcode buttons to simultaneously work. Again, this is not worth $250. The latch is very stiff and I am hoping that it will free up in time as I have to slam the door to get it to latch. This is not an adjustment issue. The instructions also say that you can push two buttons simultaneously to lock the door from the keypad however this does not work either. I gave this review to stars because what actually does work, works well. I was able to use three of the other keypad Numbers to input my personal code however it would have been nice to use for. If I had this to do all over again, I would not buy this product. Too many problems for something that cost this much.UPDATE:Three weeks after installing this door latch, the motor to make it lock completely quit working. This is absolutely not worth the purchase of $250.00. I would not recommend this to anyone. DO NOT BUY THIS. I gave it one star because it wouldn't let me go any less.
