Used this on homemade pie crust and it worked really nicely stamping out leaves for the top crust. Detail came out great. I used another review's suggestion to refrigerate the pie for ten minutes or so before putting in the oven to help keep the detail as well.

Most of the fondant plunge cutters are microscopic in size. This one is just right. I saw a design for a fall season pie crust top just filled with pie crust dough cut outs and this plunge cutter fits the bill! I've tried it and its not so flimsy.

I love this cutter, just made some gorgeous shortbread biscuits with it! It's a nice size and easy to use, I plunged the cutter while the shortbread was on the baking sheet, then lifted and plunged again which made great definition.

I bought this a couple of years ago to use to cut pie crust for my Thanksgiving pies. Each time I've used it, I've gotten rave reviews that the pies were too pretty to eat! Like other reviewers, I've done all cutouts for the top crust. Sometimes I'll just use a few cutouts to dress up a lattice crust a bit. The cutter itself has worked great over these past two years. I like that I can unscrew the plunger to get the cutter clean. Overall, a great product!

This is so much fun! I cut home made cheese crackers and graham crackers into adorable little party snacks. (Chill dough and cut before baking, of course). I cut cheese slices to put on hors d'oeuvres. I cut butter(chilled), and even thin brownies to sprinkle on ice cream. I made adorable little sugar cookies with fall colors with this cutter too. I scattered them on my buffet table. My "decor" didn't last long! Everyone really smiles when they see the cute cut-outs. It measures a tiny bit under 2" diameter. I know you will have fun with this!

I purchased the Ateco Leaf Plunger Cutter to add interest to my baked pies but I have also used it to decorate my shortbread cookies. Note: I did not use it to "cut out" the cookies. I took cookies that were already cut out/shaped and pressed the leaf plunger cuttter just firmly enough to imprint the leaf design onto the cookies. Looks fantastic! Also, when using the cutter to cut through pie dough I found it worked quickly and the cutter is easy to clean-I handwash with warm soapy water.
