Product Description

Using the Audioflow Smart Speaker Switch

The Audioflow switch is carefully designed to be a convenient and safe way of switching between multiple speakers in a typical domestic multi-room audio system. It is perfect for connecting ceiling speakers, on-wall and in-wall speakers, bookshelf speakers and outdoor speakers to a single amplifier output.

You would be able to connect speakers in different areas. For example, a Bedroom / Dressing / Ensuite, or an Open Plan Kitchen / Dining / Living Room / Garden without the expense of multiple amplifiers.

The speaker switch provides lots of flexibility by allowing you to enable and disable any combination of the speakers attached to it with the buttons on the front of the unit, over Wi-Fi with an app for iOS / Android, the Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant or Contact Closure connections.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Audioflow have a Volume Control?
    • No, it does not include a volume control - you would control the volume via your source amplifier and this would affect all active zones
  • Can I use more than one Audioflow on my system?
    • Yes you can, for example if you have a 3 Zone and a 4 Zone the app will show 7 buttons. However, each Audioflow needs to be connected to it's own amplifier. You cannot connect more than one Audioflow to a single amplifier output.
  • The zones are turning on and off by themselves!
    • If the palm of your hand is covering the buttons while you are plugging in the power cable then the touch buttons may be miscalibrated and you may experience erratic behaviour. Please power the Audioflow off and power back on without touching the front panel.
  • It doesn't work as expected - eg there is still sound when a zone is turned off, or some zones don't work when others are turned on...
    • These are all symptoms of incorrect wiring. Please double-check and get in touch if you need help.

Our stereo system is in the basement. We have two hard wired speaker circuits, one for outside music and one for the main level of our home. For years I would have to go to the basement to to change the which zone we wanted to listen to. It wasn’t too hard to do that, but if we have company or I have a few wobbly pops in the tank, being able to skip a trip to the basement is definitely a bonus. The application is very easy to use. I have loaded on both IOS and Android devices, I have not had any issues with either system. The cost in my opinion is reasonable and my setup type. It’s reasonably well constructed. I have recommended to friends…and now you.

Had no issues setting up and using it with Alexa. So much better than the manual switches as I have my audio flow in a cabinet that’s not easy to reach. Using this with a Sonos Amp and no issues at all.

I used this speaker selector for a speaker display wall in my office. The ability to turn zones on and off with a momentary switch is the key feature I needed to make my speaker wall work as intended. I am now looking into switching to these for my customers systems as well. The feature set and quality of these selectors at this price is simply amazing.

First off, I am a US owner of the product and had no problem with setup or power and so on. I am a bit confused about what the negative reviewers are complaining about. IMO the product is made of plastic but it is certainly solidly built and I have had no issue with "switches having a life of their own". It is true that for the 3 speaker variety it is expensive at $178 but the fact is that this is the only game in town. Nowhere else did I find an equivalent smart speaker switch product. So of course you are going to pay more if this is something that you need. I have no doubt that the price will come down when competition enters the market so if it is too expensive, stop complaining and wait.

I like the fact that I can on or off three sets of speakers through the app and not walk to the equipment to do so.

Works perfectly with the Sonos amp to control a set of 4 wired in ceiling speakers independently fromEach other by creating zones on the audio flow

This has to be the best £120 I have spent on HiFi equipment for years...Simply perfect for what I needed...Set up in a matter of seconds and hasn't missed a beat since...A really handy product...I would certainly recommend these speaker switches...I hope I can find a reason to buy another one...Thanks again Audioflow.

This product is not ready for prime time. Most all reviews told me this but I purchased it anyway. I should have listened. I would not waste your time or money. It is cheap, flimsy, lacks helpful documentation, failed to perform as advertised and is expensive to boot. It is however a product that has a need in the market. It was the only product I could find that advertised an ability for Alexa or any other smart assistant to voice control legacy speaker switching. I will keep looking.

The item I received (3 zone model) did not work, connecting the “B” zone caused the device to start rebooting and speakers sounded shorted out. Connecting back to my original switch with the exact polarity works fine.Device is cheaply made from plastic and not metal. For the incredibly high price for a switch, one would expect it to have a metal casing.Overall a very poorly made product. Which is a shame, as it would be nice to have an Alexa-enabled speaker selector for multi-zone audio control.Definitely not recommended. If it actually worked, $30 USD would be fair, but for $170 it should be of extremely high quality. This is not.

Awful unit the switches seem to have a life of their own. They change the speakers on there own. They don’t stick to what you want. Will be requesting a full refundSave your money buy a unit that has a physical switch
