I got this skirt for my 11 year old who finds the wrap skirts with waist ties a bit difficult to manage on her own. I think this style of skirt is perfect for kids and it always looks nice and lays right since there is no manual wrapping and tying of the skirt having to be done. The waistband on this skirt is soft and fits her, but there is definitely not much room to grow and she'll be moving to adult sizes before long (she is about 5 ft tall and 90 lbs; I got her the size 12-14). I chose the pale yellow as yellow is her favorite color. In person the yellow shade is muted and almost looks beige at times....I would have preferred a bit brighter of a yellow myself, but she is pleased with it. All in all, this is a nicely made skirt and I definitely recommend.
