Excellent product. We were pressed by circumstances (90 year old couple) to spend a few weeks where we would have only a standard tub/shower with no safety features. My order arrived quickly: installing the auxiliary safety handle was quick and secure. It caused no damage to the tub, and most importantly is protecting us.

I am a senior with mobility issues and need support in the bathtub. I'm renting so do not want to pay for a support bar that I couldn't take with me when I move at some point. We weren’t able to have this one extend to the width needed. We ended up purchasing a different one that was able to provide a wider base.

I ordered twice. The first rail arrived with both box and item damaged. Bare metal and poor quality finish with lots of defects on rail, all spots where rust would form. The second one arrived with same issues. Sending both back and will shop for another brand.

Product was stronger than my expectations. Easy to install but product kept slipping on inside of tub if pulled because my tub had a slight curved inside wall and a lip on top edge. Used a piece of hardwood the same depth of lip so clamp had flat surface on outside of tub. Used some “Alien tape” on curved inside of tub. Very solid and no slipping after my modifications.

The pros:• the density of the metal is the same as the higher-end• the mechanism for clamping it onto the tub is the same as the higher end,ButThe cons:• It's actually about an inch and a half shorter than the high-end one (my higher-end one was parallel with my Delta one)• The knob on this one is much smaller and you have to exert more force in order to try to get it to grip.I have the world's smallest hands but I had to get a towel in order to actually get a reasonable grip on the knob.Even after I tightened it down, it still shifted with use. (For comparison, my higher-end one doesn't budge) I have a higher-end one and I was getting this as a supplement for climbing in and out of the tub. The higher-end one was staying in place. I switched their positions in case it was on the part of the tub, but the same problem happened wherever the new one went.At the very least, the knob is really smallAll of the above may have been my device only. I read the other comments, but I had to mention my experience.

This is actually the SECOND unit like this that I have purchased. I got one for myself in June and just recently purchased a second unit for a friend of mine. This is possibly the MOST helpful item I have purchased in a very long time. I HIGHLY recommend this safety bar for anyone that needs a little extra help in the bathroom and shower area. GREATEST THING FOR SENIORS in a long time and the price is AMAZING!!!
