This thing is amazing. I have used one for 10 years now and it is the quickest way to get accurate 90 degree cuts with a circular saw. This thing wears out over time and should be considered a consumable, that said mine is 10 years old and I'm not ready to replace it yet. It can only be set for one circular saw since you cut the waste on first cut. Also if you change blade thickness or use blades with more tooth set you will bite into the plastic making it where you have to add a bit of space if you switch back to a thinner kerf blade. Overall a great item.

It probably works fine, but as I have all cordless saws, and nearly all cordless saws have the motor on the right side, this is useless. It's being immediately returned. In general inspection though, the plastic is rather thin, or just not rigid enough, and it seems like it flexes a lot, making it a bit less than ideal for accuracy and long term use...especially for how much it costs for a molded piece of plastic. They should note in the product title that this only works on left motor saws, or it the features list by the title. It is mentioned in the product "description" field, but that's way down the page and only a couple sentences long, so it's extremely easy to miss.

The Bench Dog 10-019 ProCut Portable Circular Saw guide is a very handy, quick set-up no mistake guide. My Circular Saw was never my first choice to use. Now it's #1 next to my table saw. Depending on the size of the stock. Cutting a full sheet of plywood by yourself is not that easy unless you have an industrial table saw like Lowes Hardware has. This Crosscut guide; no problem at all. When I first received it, I just stared at it and laughed. After I first used it; it's now my best friend.Very happy with my purchase. If need be I would buy it again.

As many other reviews said - this little gadgets makes precise cutting so much easier and faster. For a recent project I've cut from 2x2 to 1x12 and it worked great, it saved me at least an hour of two. 5 stars! Should have gotten this years ago when I installed hardwood flooring through the entire house.Update 2020:I no longer use this. After couple of years it warped and it was hard to make good cuts. The part where the saw slides on became a like a bow with the center part lower than the edges. This caused the saw to jam while sliding or slide sideways, it required pushing down while cutting too hard to straighten the warp. Good idea for a tool but it needed to be made of a better (or thicker) material.I use a carpenter's square now for making perpendicular cuts - it works even better than this tool. I'm downgrading the rating to 3 stars from the original 5.

I originally bought the Kreg Square cut to help with making cross cuts withcircular saw. The Square is an okay tool but it is hard to use on wider piecesas the handhold is near the bottom. In addition the piece that is used to lineup your saw to your cutting mark can move if not checked for tightness. The Bench dog has 2 holding locations for each hand. In Calibrating youactually cut off a piece of the tool to automatically align it with your saw.As such you may need to purchase another bench dog to use with anothercircular saw. But as I only have one, I'm fine with it.

Purchased this Bench Dog crosscut guide from Amazon to build a large shed. After the first cut it proved its worth allowing me to make repeatedly accurate cuts time and time again without the need to drag out the miter saw. So far it's proven itself to be sturdy and valuable after hundreds of cuts.ProsEasy to setupFast/quick to useSquare cuts every timeConsGo slow when cutting the guide with your saw the first time else you'll snap the plastic at the tipWon't work with left-handed saws

When rough cutting, a good craftsman can follow a pencil line. An accurate straight cut requires a straight edge clamped to the material to be cut. This items attempts to shortcut that process and just doesn't work.Because it's a one item fits all device, it first has to be cut to fit your circular saw. The problem is that it has a minimal edge to support the circular saw when starting the cut, so you frequently start off in the wrong direction. Despite its being made from plastic, there was a lot of friction between it and my saw. which caused the whole unit to shift, making cuts less than perfect. My freehand cuts were just as good as cuts made with this device.Sears makes an item that is both cheaper and more useful.[...]They used to make a table that converted a circular saw into a 45/90° miter saw, that I bought 30 years ago.

The ProCut is a great idea. Wish I had it years ago. Did not try it with a right bladed circular saw since I now only use worm drive saws. It still works with a worm drive but there is only a small amount of procut bed under the saw. As a result you have to hold the saw up on the bed of the ProCut with a slight CCW twist of the wrist. Once you make your first cut the ProCut is customized for that saw.
