My son loves these - he feels no restriction with them. He plays rep lacrosse and there is never an complaint of not enough protection from stick hacks. He recently went back to being a player in hockey (from goalie) and didn't like the restrictive feel of the traditional hockey elbow pads, so he dug these out of his lacrosse bag. Again, he hasn't complained that they are not protective. He is a big 12 year old - so Men's Small (which is his clothing size) was bang on.

Arm guard is fine BUT beware you only get one! Do not go by the FAQ's because it is incorrect. Not only that, these are sold through third party vendors so you have very few options to rectify issues. Why would anyone sell one arm guard and not be 100% transparent in the description that the price reflects one arm guard. I find this manipulative and unfair advertising. Going to Dick's from now on for lax gear. Not happy with this purchase. At.All.
