Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.  The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.  Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Shoes run extremely small! You’ll have to order about 3 sizes bigger, without exaggerating. Unfortunately, there are no free returns, although it says “Free Returns” on here. I received a label where postage is required. I reached out for help and was told I would receive a new pre-paid label. I received another label where postage is required. Too much of a hassle for all of this!! Unbelievably disappointed and frustrated. I’m a busy mom, and I just need shoes that fit my daughter without having to pay to return them because they run extremely small! She’s normally a 13 and I tried 2.5 and it’s still too small!

When I ordered these I sized up two sizes they run small, and I only knew to size up from other dance moms. My daughter is picky and hasn’t complained about putting these on for class

Great hip-hop dance sneaker. Fit is smaller than street shoe size.

Seems like a good quality shoe buy way too small. I ordered a 12 1/2 because my daughter is a 10 and the seller said to order 2 sizes up. She could barely get her foot in the shoe. I'm sending them back.

I really like these shoes, and so does my son. It is so frustrating to find jazz shoes for boys so i was excited when i found these. They seemed a bit pricy, but then the price dropped $16, so i sent an email and they refunded the difference! Great customer service! Only problem is the shoes are a little tight, and i had actually gone up a size since they were out of my son's size.

These shoes were perfect for my daughter who has recently started dancing competitively, she says they are so comfy and she loves them. She even asked of she could wear them as her regular shoe! (I ordered her a size 2 and she is a size 13 street shoe. Fits perfectly.)
