My husband and I took some classes on boating and the trainer emphasized keeping a log of where you are going etc etc as well as ship maintenance. This log will help him at least get an idea of what he needs to fill out for maintenance and where we are going and keep him organized. That was all in the Cruising Log section of this book.The Ships Log portion is not relevant to him since he and I are the only "crew". I do, however, like the "Maintenance Log". That way, you don't have to try and remember when maintenance work was done and who did the work.There is an "Inventor" log (someone forgot the Y. 😟) which is good to know what stock you have on hand.I also like that it is spiral bound and has a plastic top and bottom cover.Gave to my husband to put into his boat so keep him organized.Nice little book.

Review for Captain's Spiral bound Log Book, this 8 1/2 x 11" log book has a vinyl covers to protect the book and plenty of pages for virtually every thing one does on their boat. The vessel data could have more entry categories, I have twin engines yet the log only has space for a single engine data, similar with fuel data, many boats have twin fuel tanks, not one. There are some boating basics which are nice though very basic, how to keep a log book, cruising logs, typo with #4 inventor logs s/b inventory logs. Plenty of pages yet the cruising log pages have limited space for any cruising notes.I would suggest you check out your local chandler or marine store to compare what is available vs. your needs and boating experience.As a Vine member I did not pay for the product; never the less my review is unbiased.

This book is really well made and has everything you need to keep your boat in order and logged properly. The pages are thick and the cover is waterproof. The pages are all nicely divided and organized into logical sections. Very happy with this and super high quality.

This is a perfect gift for a new boat owner! I like the design! The spiral binding could be better quality but the print quality is great! Good value.
