Even after having the item and sorting the contents for distribution in goodie bags, I STILL find the listing confusing. How many "books" do you actually get? My count is 12 distinct designs. I know this because I put 6 cards into 9 bags, and 6 cards into the other 9 bags. 18 bags, 12 total card designs. Whatever that adds up to. I had one extra for each design, which I put aside for my own child, making a single 12 page "book." The thing is, it's not a book, it's cards. They are grouped in one stack, so all 10 of each design are together but all 12 designs are in the same single stack. So you have to separate them out, 10 at a time, by hand. It may not sound like a lot, but it does add extra time and labor to your gift-giving. And that's even before you get into opening the cellophane-type gift bags that come in the kit, or tying them off with the cheap little gold twist-ties. I didn't use these this time around since the painting cards and included brushes were going into bigger gift bags for distribution at a kindergarten end-of-school party. From past experience however I'd expect the clear bags and gold ties to add even more time and labor to your project. Also, the paintbrushes come with a clear cap over the brush end, and this cap comes off easily. It's not a bad idea to leave the cap in place if you can, but I suggest holding the brushes with the heads pointing up.If you can overlook all the complaining I seem to have just done, the painting cards are actually quite nice. They have six-color paint palettes along one vertical side of each card, ensuring the recipient can begin to enjoy the adorable designs right away. Just add water! The paint brushes are standard fare, neither great nor terrible. The pictures on the cards are whimsical and cute, and could make for a permanent keepsake since these are only about 4x6 or so. Easy and simple to store in a book, folder or drawer when done. Don't throw them away! That's your child's art!Weighing the pluses against the minuses, the conclusion is clear: these are worth it.

Okay, we had a rainy memorial day weekend. (WNY ugh) these came exactly as described and the paper is also thicker. I was able to pull these out this weekend for something to do on the rainy weekend. My girls loved them. They're not too messy. an adult or older kid does need to be over seeing a younger kiddo playing with this as you would with any product that could be messy. I also painted a picture my self and found it enjoyable! Great product for either birthday goodie bags or just something to have on a slow day. Great for girls and boys!!

My fiance loves capybaras, and it's not exactly easy to find capybara-related things (thats slowly changing these days). She has a birthday coming up, and she's always into board games and borderline childish activities with her close friends, so I thought this might be something she'd like to put out for people to mess with. This set is nice. At first I thought it was a little pricey for what it is, but it comes with a lot of watercolor cards. The paint is essentially a dried palette of colors on the side of each card, so you only need to use water with the included brushes. The paint actually works pretty well.

These are so cute, perfect for a little birthday goodie bag for classroom friends. I love a good non-candy pick for a goodie bag and these are fun without being too nice to throw away when it's time to clear clutter :) The bags are tall and roomy enough to fit a couple other items inside. I like that it includes enough to add a few different coloring pages to each bag.
