I love these and so do my chickens. I prefer these ones over the smaller nibbler style cups because the chickens dont need to learn how to drink water. With the nibbler, the chickens have to learn to rub their beak on the yellow bit to get more water out. These cups, the water is just there. The listing says for ducks and geese too, but im not sure a big goose bill will fit in the cup to get water. Babies, sure, but adults, i dont think so. But thats what their pond is for.I like that these have a wing nut on the back to really make sure they are secured tightly. They hold a good amount of water.I will say, I have had to replace 3 of them already because my cornish cross are dumb and jump on the cups. This either breaks the divots that hold them on, or pops the spring off. They must be eating the spring too because when they pop it off, its just gone, nowhere to be found. But at $1 each, replacing the occasional broken one is not much of a burden.

We use these for our 30 G barrels that we have for our chickens, ducks, and geese for overnight access to water in their coops and they work great! Much easier than the nipple option that works great for chickens but isn't as easy for ducks or especially geese. Not deep enough for it to be a main water source for waterfowl but it works for them for what we use it for, or it would be completely perfect for chickens. The quality is good, I don't see that it's leaking (although it's hard to tell with the mess ducks make when they drink). Overall I would definitely recommend this if you're in need of watering options for your flock!

Chicken Waterer Cups, 8 PackI took a shot at this, not because I have chickens, but I use this for the feral cats, squirrels, and random racoons that come to my front porch! I used to use random containers that I would fill up daily. This works fantastic! Two 5 gallon buckets, this 8 pack of watering cups, and this kit comes with the actual drill bit sized for the cups. That's a huge plus. For less than $20 I have ten gallons (two 5 gallon buckets) of water for those animals. These are large and made really well, and I like that you don't need any tubes, this is all automatic, cups fill up based on the pressure of the water inside the bucket. Installation was super easy. The cups have a seal that works well, no leaks.I also love that I can use these on any recycled food container, which means I can put these anywhere.Overall, really great product. Very happy with the outcome...and the animals actually use it!

I got this 8 pack first, installed them and then realized that this was the 100% way to go when it comes to watering my chickens! I've also written a review of this same product but in the 10 count as well. They do not fail! We had some dirt get into the cups when they have dirty beaks but my husband was able to get the dirt out by squirting a turkey baster with water into the cup to force the dirt out.Great value and super easy to install once you've figured out what pieces you need and at what size.

So far, these are working great for us! We used a regular food-safe 5-gallon bucket and drilled holes using the included drill bit, then installed 4 of the water cups. When we filled the bucket with water, the cups filled themselves without overflowing. Our chickens started using them right away.We used the remaining cups to make a second waterer. We’ve been using these for about two weeks now with no issues. We’ve had no leaking and the water is staying cleaner. Definitely recommend these for a quick, cheap waterer!

I'm a new chicken mom, so I'm learning a lot and have a lot still to learn. One of the things I'm learning is that chicken raising can be surprisingly expensive, so this inexpensive kit was a welcome find, after having spent $60 bucks on a store-bought waterer for just one of our two coops. We already had the 5-gallon bucket, so it was a simple operation to put together and create a waterer that we like even better than the expensive store-bought one. One reason is that this one stays cleaner, since the cups are fairly small and up off the ground. We inherited a chicken waterer when we took over the property, which was similar to the new one we had to buy when the old one crumbled in my hands, trying to take the lid off to fill it. I know that our 5-gallon bucket fitted with this kit will be more durable and last a lot longer than the thinner plastic did, so another point for this kit. If/when it does wear out, it's still going to be much less expensive to replace than an entire waterer is. It will also be easy to add more of these as our brood grows, with minor expense.

These things are HUGE. I'm concerned they're going to attract lots of mosquitoes to my coop. Would be better for larger birds than chickens.
