My daughter does ballet and we have struggled to find shoes that do not hurt her heels. These ballet slippers are thinner material than our other slippers, but they do not rub on her heels. These are non-tie slippers and the straps on higher up on the top of the foot than the average slipper, which makes them a little tougher to get on. My daughter wore them around the house for a few hours and she DID NOT HAVE ANY RED on her feet. We will be staying with these slippers from here on out.
