I needed a second strainer so I decided to give this one a shot. Though its smaller than the one I have, it still works just as well. And yes, a 12 cup filter works, you just have to mess with it a little bit to fit right.I think it strains well, flavor is fine (and I am very picky when it comes to the taste of my coffee), and works well on top of my ceramic mug.My only complaint is that it isn't a little wider and that it has no cover. Seeing I travel a lot, I would much rather have a cover to keep it secure and clean.

Love it. For solo camp coffee it is the best, less mess less time, the best tasting coffee. Pour your coffee water through twice let it drain through then pour it back over the same grounds it gives you a much richer flavor.When you are done, let it dry and put it in a baggie to store it for the next cupPS a regular coffee filter works just fine, the cone ones are not needed.

Got this to carry for trips , fits most cups , stays stable . 2 holes makes it perfect for my liking and similar to my ceramic pour over. Given this is silicone I plan to use sparingly

There’s something on or in these that’s leaving its own distinct taste.I washed them thoroughly when I got them, but both a Honduras & sidamo coffee are both coming out tasting like the same tainted flavour.Ran boiling water through & it’s the same again 😞I’ll update my review if it clears up, but buyer beware.

It was OK, but may have had a "plastic" taste at first.... And yes, I washed it. Who knows, but I still use it.

The unit is all rubber- silicone, it’s a bit flimsy but useable, it does make a good cup of coffee, wash it well first with soap and water, rinse it well and begin to use, I use number 4 cone filters with it

I didn't have a cone filter when I got this, so I put a regular filter in. Not a very good idea, though I was able to brew a reasonable cup of coffee. Regular filters aren't tall enough to stand up to a hot water pour-over. But with no moving parts or plugs, this will work in a pinch as long as you can heat your water up hot enough to brew your coffee.
