I got this one and the smaller one....both are well built very high quality pipe wrenches....the self adjusting does work nice. Wrench grips hard I am pretty pleased with it...makes a good pipe vise too. Handled 1 1/4 fittings and pipe with ease

Awesome product, I use Cresent self adjusting wrenches almost daily for gas lines and other tasks. This is a large wrench but it'll grasp down to an inch if you know how to use it but is rated for pipe larger than one inch up to 2.5in

It feels great and grips perfectly. Doesn’t work with 1/2 IP due to jaw size, not a big deal but I don’t break it out unless I’m working on 3/4+ IP.

Bought these because I thought they would be very useful. When they arrived I pulled one out of the package and tried one out. It would not bite a one inch shaft which is what they were bought for. I immediately wrapped it back up and sent it back. About a week later I eat an e mail they took back half my refund stating the manufacturer said I only sent one back. Going back and fourt with e mails getting nowhere he said she said type of situation. Finally called customer service and got a very nice representative from Amazon. I asked her to check the weight of the package going both ways if I only sent one back it should weigh half of the original weigh going back. Was placed on hold then given my refund.

I mean, I'm hearing that you can't grip 1" pipe with it. I'm wondering why Crescent didn't just throw a few more teeth into the jaws further in to accommodate. They did stop a little short on the inside jaw; I guess they figured that was the torque-loss sweet spot. But it would have been good. If this tool is found lacking, I shall sentence it to be welded as a pipe holder stand on its back which would be ultra functional as a portable pipe vise 💪🏼💯💀
