The grill has many hot spots. From front it is warm in back hit. Middle grid is hotter then others. Seems spacing from cooking area to fire is to close as well. If I could I would have sent it back. As it is I now use only to bbq

This grill literally started rusting within 6 months of purchase. Ugly deep surface rust. DCS sent someone. They said normal and polished it and sprayed some protector on it. A week later all rusted again. About 5 calls to DCS would not send anyone again. after 14 months igniter broke. $800 for the part. No thanks. I'll use a lighter. 2 1/2 years later caught on fire, entire grill done.

The grill is built very solid and comes with a good warranty ON PAPER. I contacted recently Fisher and Paykel to discuss about the grill grates that rusted (they suppose to have lifetime warranty) and they told me the warranty is only if the rust goes through. Employees and managers of Fisher Paykel: please eat yourself a steak cooked on a rusted grill grate. The money you pay for this grill is like 3-4 times of what is worth. I paid from my own money and got a set of stainless steel grates from a different company. I will not be a repeat customer for this company.

This is our second DCS grill, our first one worked great for the 6 years we owned it so we decided to stay with this brand in our new house. Our new grill worked great for a few months, then developed intermittent problems with poor gas pressure and the grill eventually became useless. We called Fisher and Paykel (who manufactures DCS). A technician was sent to our house to repair it but failed to diagnose the problem - I suspected a faulty pressure regulator, he said the grill just needed to be cleaned. There was zero gas pressure at the burners so we quit using the grill, filed a second complaint and the same technician returned. After some resistance he agreed it was a faulty regulator but said they would not replace it and it was up to me. I purchased a new pressure regulator and installed it myself, and the grill now works great. When I complained to Fisher and Paykel about their service, they tried to sell me a subscription to Just Answer at $37/mo. Really?? Wonderful product, terrible service.

We purchased this grill with other DCS parts, which were shipped in packed crates and held in place by a heavy duty adhesive tape. The tape appears to have caused abrasions and permanent marks on the drawers and covers. Every product recommended to remove the adhesive has not removed the shadowed appearance and scratches in the covers.DCS customer service 1-888 number has be inconsistent in response, asking for photos, recommending oils and removers (at my cost) and now having to call a technician. Nothing has worked. It is hard to believe these alleged high quality grills are so guarded about customer service. Why is it so much work to get something fixed on a quality grill? If I had wanted $6000 of scratched and marred grill components then I certainly would have found and bought $6K worth of scratched and marred grill components.

The grates, burners and searing trays rusted after a couple of uses. These can't be high quality stainless. I had the grill installed in November and by February they all rusted after only two uses. The grill was covered when not in use. DCS (Fisher Paykel) refuses to honor the so-called 'lifetime warranty' because they did not rust all the way through yet. This thing is junk and customer service is non-existent. I've scrubbed the grates with barkeepers friend to remove the rust and seasoned them to prevent re-rusting, but they just rust again. These require constant maintenance. Why pay all this money for SS when I effectively got cast iron?? My prior grill was a BBQ Galore and that lasted years without any rust. NOTE: I actually bought the 48 inch DCS, but the parts are the same, so beware.
