Used this for my 99 F350 (same part for F250) crew cab truck. Driver's side front and rear doors us the same part, and passenger side front and back use the same part (I've purchased and had to replace all 4 door actuators on my truck).

My only problem with these is that they only last for 2 years. The original al that cam with the truck from Ford lasted for 15 years. And now, I replace them every 2 years. Why cant they be made to last 15 years alone the OEM part? Oh wait..... I know why..... $$$$$$

great product, much less expensive than ford oem part. very easy to swap out.I have about 4 months time since the repair and they are still working great.watched a youtube video from "1AAuto.com" to help out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG3d3uGAeLwAlso much quieter than oem, (only negative to this is I can not hear the doors lock on the 1st key fob press like I was used to. even from 5-10 feet away you can't hear them lock/unlock. so you have to 2 tap and get horn beep)seems to be a stronger more positive lock action.I am very happy with these. I had to replace them on all 4 doors of my 2001 F350 crew cab DWR truck. Don't know why I suffered thru crawling over seats or rolling down windows and walking around truck to open the stinking doors for so long, I put this off for over a year thinking it would cost too much and be too time consuming to do myself, boy was I surprised!Yep! 30 minutes or less per door! Thanks Amazon, Dorman, & 1AAuto.com!

Purchased for 2001 Ford F-150 driver and passenger sides. Installation was much easier than I thought. First side took me about an hour, but the second side was about 20 minutes.Pros: Price, ease of installCons: Plastic lever vs metal OEM leverUnknown: DurabilityInstallation instructions available on line, but here of a couple of tips which may not be included:- Don't disconnect the window channel bracket, instead loosen it. That gives enough extra room to extract/insert the actuator. If you accidentally disconnect it, the window might come out of its track so be careful. Also, remember to tighten it back up (I wasn't sure I had and ended removing the door panel again to check).- The actuator clip is accessible through the door striker latch. There's a thin horizontal slot that you can insert a thin object to press the clip. I tapped a thin blade screw driver with a hammer. I broke the clips on both sides, but I was disposing the old units anyway, so no harm. The broken pieces did fall inside the door and I had to fish around for them with my arm or risk a permanent rattle, so not breaking them is preferable.- The wiring on my vehicle was long enough that I could unplug and plug-in the wiring when the actuator was loosened from the mount. Some people discuss difficulty of un-clipping with the actuator in-place which is probably unnecessary.I highly recommend this replacement and it's great to have power door locks back!(posted same review under passenger side)

It works great, looks a little different than original part. The Winstar door panel is very straight forward to remove. It is necessary to free up the four jam lock bolts so you can pull lock mechanism toward the panel holes so you can see it. The hardest part is to remove the lock actuator from the lock, it is difficult to see how to do this and this is why I am writing the review. Like someone said don't try to disconnect the three arms that attach to the door lock or the inside pop up. You slide the door lock actuator away from yourself toward the outside of the car. There are two curved brackets that slide into plastic tracks on the door actuator. I did not see any releases to prevent the slide. A support bar lies behind it and I removed this prior with one bolt release. The power cord connects just fine. The actuator has great power and works well.

I just completed the replacement of this part. I was somewhat skeptical as I had noticed mixed reviews on these actuators. However, it has been working OK, but does seem a little bit weeker than the OEM and doesn't move the lock button up quite as far as before. Installation on '99 Windstar took a little over an hour and I'm no mechanical expert; plus Ford engineering is always the finest. To install:(1) Remove the door panel(2) Remove/unplug the window/mirror switches (having the panel completely out of the way is nice.)(3) Pull back about 1/2 of the foam barrier(4) Unscrew the door lock assembly from the jam(5) Disconnect the door key lock swivel rod from lock assembly(6) Disconnect the door handle rod (un-snaps) from lock assembly(7) Unplug the door ajar sensor and actuator (now the assembly should slide out to work on)(8) Looking at the new part, it's easy to see how the old actuator releases from the lockassembly.(9) Replace actuator and re-assemble.TIPS:Be careful not to bend the door lock rod which travels up to the top of the door panel as I did. If there's too much resistance, the actuator won't work. I resolved this by drilling out a little bit of the black grommet ring around the top of the door lock. The key lock rod is swivelled at the top. Be sure and complete the curve at the top or the key lock will not stay connected (it's a cheap plastic blue clip.)PS I just couldn't see giving this item 5 stars as it seems weak and I'm not certain of its longevity.
