It breaks my heart to have to give this product four stars when it’s so superior to products that I’ve given five stars to, but they have to up their quality control game. The extract button went dead after three uses. Amazon supplied a replacement in two days, but this shouldn't have happened. I'm writing this review on August 4, 2024, having used the new product once. If this one should fail, I'll update my review with the fail date.Now let’s get to the reasons why this electric wine opener makes it retirement village time for sommeliers and why my wife will no longer be able to smirk when I make an attempt to open a bottle.I love this thing. Wine bottle opening is one of the many physical activities that family and friends could attest to my being incompetent at (notice the past tense)—ranking right up there with hitting a baseball and ice skating (weak ankles).When opening a bottle, I would occasionally cut myself while trying to remove the foil wrapping, leave behind a piece of cork, and often complete the pour by creating a slight wine stain on the label. I was inept at it all.That’s history.These people have you covered for every part of the oenophilic process:You start by placing the foil removal cap on the top of the bottle, then giving the bottle a quick turn, and, voilà!, the foil is off in a perfect circle.Next, hold the cylindrical device over the bottle’s top, press the extraction button, and enjoy the pleasant whirring sound as your cork is effortless lifted into the cylinder’s body.Once the cork is safely ensconced in the cylinder, you lift this device effortlessly off of the bottle, place your hand under it, touch the cork release button, and, Bob’s Your Uncle, the cork’s in your hand!While it’s working, a soft, red light is visible through a window in the cylinder creating a nice effect (very cool).The kit is completed by four vacuum stoppers, a pourer which aerates the wine while pouring and which prevents dripping at the end of the pour, and a USB-C charging cable.It would have been nice if the charging light went off or changed color when the unit was fully charged (getting picky now).In short, for much less than the cost of one good bottle of wine, you can make your every wine drinking experience a more enjoyable one.

A great way to open a bottle of wine. Rechargeable, powerful motor effortlessly pulls corks out of bottles of wine. Comes with a foil cutter, 4 vacuum-type sealing rubber corks to protect the wine once the bottle has been opened, and an aerating pour spout for quickly "opening up" the bouquet and subtle nuances of a newly opened bottle of wine. I got this to replace an old, impressive but hard-to-operate "Estate" pull-handle countertop wine de-corker, and am very pleased that I did.A couple of notes for those not familiar with this type of wine opener: first, you'll need to supply a standard usb wall wart to charge the battery. One other reviewer was obviously frustrated that there was "no way to plug it into an electric outlet" - well it's not meant to be plugged in except to charge, and more manufacturers these days are not supplying the charge adapters because they're so ubiquitous (ie, everybody's got a drawer full of them.)The second note is to be sure you've got the opener centered over the cork and are holding it straight upright so the corkscrew can insert close to the center of the cork (it will not be dead center, but off to one side a little bit), and so it can pull the cork straight out with the least amount of effort by the motor.And one final note about the vacuum-seal corks: it may take a few more pumps than expected to pull enough air out of the bottle that the tapered rubber vacuum cork gets sealed properly. You may not feel much resistance while you're pumping, but if you're paying attention, you'll feel the rubber cork being pulled slightly into the bottle to seal it, and there will be resistance when you try to pull it out.All in all, a nicely designed and effective tool at a very reasonable cost. Recommended.

It couldn’t be simpler, or faster. No fuss no muss. Out of the box, just cut the foil, put the extractor on the bottle, press the button …and the cork slides right out.The thing to remember is to make sure everything is straight in line with cork and bottle. If things get sideways, the cork can jam up in the extractor.I really like this electric extractor. It is compact, uncomplicated, with no mechanical levers or cranks or whatever.I also like the other components: foil cutter, pourer, and several vacuum stoppers. It makes for such a nice, simple, pleasant setup.
