The other reviews scared me along with the relatively high price tag for petunias, but I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality. I buy tons of plants online and I found these are actually very professionally packaged and arrived looking very healthy. For the folks who had their plants die it seems like they did not slowly harden them off, if you take a plant that just arrived after shipping and put it in hot direct sunlight outside it will 100% get torched and possibly die. You need to very carefully and slowly acclimate the plants to their desired full sun location (at least a few days in shade, then a few in partial shade, and a few in mostly sun) if you do this you'll be happily surprised with how they grow, if you take then out of the box and throw them in the ground or directly im full sun you'll be disappointed.

The Firefly Petunias arrived in perfect condition! I am always a little nervous when ordering live plants but all three are healthy and flowering! They arrived securely packaged in a plastic case that kept all three plants in place. Costa Farms can always be depended upon to provide quality plants and this was no exception. I highly recommend!bioluminescence.*Update* I have had the plants for several days now and they are still doing well; however, they are not bioluminescent. I have checked every night and there isn't even the faintest glow to them. Considering I paid $40 for bioluminescent petunias only to receive seemingly regular petunias, I have dropped the stars to 2.**Update 2** So, I have been checking the petunias every night. I finally saw a faint glow on two of the three plants. I'm not sure if it takes a lot of prolonged sun exposure or if for some reason the petunias took time to glow, but two of the three glowing is much better than none. I am now confident the third will eventually glow as well.

The Firefly Petunias are not glowing at night. I purchased 2pkgs/6 total. Three are potted in a hanging coconut basket in full Sun. The other 3 were Mother’s Day/In Memory of gifts and NONE are glowing! I am pretty sad. $78 dollars and no fantastic glow as promised. And neither the Griwer or Amazon will replace or refund!

Plants arrived in extremely poor condition, mostly rotted leaves and stems. I can only hope they'll come around after I get them cleaned up and potted.Later edit: The plants did not survive. By the second day they were shriveled up and dead. Very disappointed, $40 down the drain! I see pictures of others who have had the plants arrive in healthy condition, but that was certainly not the case with mine.

The plants arrived in very good condition. I quickly watered the roots a bit. I got some potting soil and a large container and planted them. They are doing great, very healthy.BUT they do not glow at all. We had full sunny days, at night... nothing. These were expensive for basically white petunias.

I have to say the reviews had me hesitant but I took a risk. I wanted something new and unique and these firefly plants are doing just that. They arrived packaged very well and cute. They are quite small and petite. I have cute pure white flower blooms on all of them. I planted them right away. I’m in love can wait to see the luminous light on them at night. I’m sure they have to mature a bit but these are gorgeous. Very satisfied customer and I will buy more if these grow successfully.

Packaging was air tight plastic which allowed for zero airflow and steam baked them, as they were dripping wet when I received them, very wilted upon arrival. not well rooted. I'm a landscaper, greenhouse operator and tropical plant collector, with plenty of plant experience and could not coax two of them back to life. The last one is struggling, I don't think it's going to pull through. Also, it's two inch plugs, grown in those horrendous fabric liners, not four inch size plants like it looks like you're supposed to receive.

Seeing the reviews and taking into consideration that I'm getting a live plant in the mail, I really wasn't expecting much. Just as a couple other people experienced, one of the plants was disconnected from its substrate, and clearly didn't develop a good enough root system first before being sent out, so it was a withered raisin with a root nub. One looked great with a few flower buds, and one was okay with some wilting and no buds. I completely washed the substrate off of the roots of both the great and dead-looking one (seems to have perlite in it, bad for bugs), then planted them in my humid bioactive terrarium. It has been only 3 days since I received them and I'm honestly shocked at how fast the one that looked dead bounced back. Barely a trace of the withering and developing a couple flowers! The okay one however, I left attached to its substrate and planted in a nice sized normal indoor pot, with the same dirt as the terrarium around it, and it seems to be barely hanging on. Lot of potential factors, higher humidity, temp, better lighting, and soil maintenance bugs in the terrarium. The glow of the flowers in the terrarium isn't super noticeable either though, currently I can only see one if I turn off literally every light source in my house, but I'm very excited about the potential
