The product is excellent quality and a good replacement for a cracked insert. Severan points to note. (1) There are no screws included - probably because some will want to use stainless steel which is plenty expensive.But they could specify the recommended screw diameter. They could also specify the maximum diameter of the washers as these are limited by the distance between the screw holes and the shaft of the insert. (2) They do not specify the diameter of the hole to drill for the main shaft of the insert. I used 1.25". (3) Finally, choosing where to place them is tricky, depending on where the lower part of your ladder contacts the boat. To figure it out, you have to carefully align the ladder "arms" that go into the insert vertically to the mounting surface, and then adjust the location of the inserts to put the bottom "arms" of the ladder to correctly sit on the boat. I did not appreciate the "vertical" part and placed them wrong, so I had to extend ther lower ladder arms with PVC to get the right position
