Not a whole lot to say about this thing. It's a simple device, designed to the proper tolerances to tightly fit Nikon bodies. The colored cap may just be a style choice for some people, but it can also serve a utilitarian purpose. In a drawer or bag full of all different types of caps, especially if you have a lot of Nikon gear, you might find that everything is black. As such, it usually takes a little extra time to differentiate all the different types of caps (front lens, rear lens, body) when you're trying to find a specific one. But if you thrown in a bit of color, you can see it right away and reach directly for it. Save some time and, while you're at it, some money, and get these Fotodiox colored body caps.

It's a body.cap . . . what can I say? It's very orange which makes it easy to spot when I pull things out of my bag and set them down somewhere only to forget where I set them later. It works very much as expected.
