Different feel and sound than wooden calves. Certainly brighter and if course metallic as they resemble pipes. It's strictly a matter of personal taste and if you are playing in a group, which sound is preferable.

I love these because they will withstand being used by students. They are also incredibly loud. Can be heard easily over a concert band.

They have a different sound from wood claves. My grandson enjoys them as do I.

Oh boy. 20 years ago one of my wooden clavas splintered towards the front, the piece flying left of a young mans face.From there I moved to fiberglass...These have great tone, volume and weigh less. We will see about durability ... For the $ and safety, I'm very happy.

Very cool sound, almost synthetic. Somehow sounds like metal and wood at the same time? The texture feels nice to the touch as well.
