Crap lamp, lasted 20 days. I bought 2 and they both separately died very soon after installation. Don't bother.

I have to admit, I used this for a purpose unintended by the manufacturer. I put it on my step bumper to replace an incandescent light and thought it might last a few months. It lasted 2 days. The replacement one lasted the same even though I silicon sealed it thoroughly. This is a great looking bright light, but do NOT use it for an exterior application. Can't understand why the exterior rated lamp (different model) costs 4-8 times as much because it just isn't worth the extra to me--I cobbled up a couple of generic LED lights and they work fine. So my take is good light, but use if for what Grote says to use it or don't expect good results.

I knew this product before I ordered it, as we use them at work. It was exactly what I was expecting. This is a nice light made of stainless parts, and is frequently used on or around the stepwells on buses. I mounted 4 of these along the bottom of my RV (curb side) to provide low ambient lighting at night. The hood on the light keeps the bulb from shining into your eyes. Although the bulb that comes in the unit is 12V, I replaced it with 24V LED bulbs since my vehicle is 24V. Works great. Grote has a new model out now that comes with LED bulbs in it, but it is 12V only, which I cannot use. I was glad to find this light on Amazon. It is harder to find now than it was in the past. It was a good price and quick delivery.
