First issue, no instructions in the box. From looking closely atvthe various photos, I was able to figure out how it goes together, after first putting the fan upside down. Second issue, the pictures show that the connecting rod attaches to a disk on the fan shaft. I got no disk. The rod connects to the fan shaft which is only a little offset, so very little movement of the arms. Nothing like the video. It was inexpensive enough and was appreciated by the drummer I gave it to. So that is good enough. I may have to use my skills to improve on it.
