So I've had this chair for just about 24 hours and I'm already kind of obsessed. There are no beans in this delightful chair - it's just a descriptor of the style - but the product listing indicates that it is one giant piece of solid (sponge) memory foam, vs foam scrap fill. This appears to be true - I unzipped it to check. The seat and "back" are soft, but firm, and it adequately holds a 120-lb woman without sagging or drooping. If it's anything like the memory foam pillows I have, I expect it will last for quite a long time. The cover is a plush sherpa fabric and it feels soft against my skin. It's not scratchy or rough. I appreciate that the cover is removable. The zipper is nicely sewn and glides smoothly. I have a feeling it's considerably easier to remove the cover, than it is to put it back on again, but that's likely just due to user ability! There is a very faint smell to the chair. I can't tell if it's the memory foam, the cover, or both, but it is not unpleasant or overwhelming. I've placed this chair in a smaller room in my house, and it's not like I can smell it before I walk in. I have to get pretty close. Again, I don't think it's bad and I imagine it will dissipate with time. The chair is comfortable in many sitting positions and would also probably accommodate two smaller people or children. It's heavy enough that you won't go sliding around, but light enough that one person can move it.is it expensive? Kind of, but I'm not sure how the price point compares to other similar products. To me, it seems reasonable for a chair that looks nice, won't pop or puncture, won't spill beans or other filler, has a well-made cover, and appears to be made of good quality materials.
