Idea is there. Product is not. Tried to return it, only to find out that shipping costs were more than product itself lol. Ended up trashing it as I wanted the charger base to work without the use of ps3 (I already have the charging cable for that) would not recommend

This dual charging dock let's you charge two PS3 controller's at once. While using one controller you can be charging another constroller. You can use both Sony branded PS3 controllers and Generic branded PS3 controllers on the dual charging dock. You will only get the dual charging dock and nothing else in the box. So you will have to use your own USB cable which most people have spares laying around. You can use one of those USB wall charger's like nearly all tablet's and smart phones comes with to power the dual charging dock.Soon you plug in the dock to a USB power source you will see a blue LED light. The dual charging dock hardly weigh anything but it does the job it's meant too. If you have kids that likes to throw things around this could break in the fall. For anyone else this is a good buy to charge your controllers. This is a honest review on the product and would recommend it to anyone.

Took a while to arrive, though considering it's from half way round the world all good. Item arrived and worked from the get go. No complaints about the device at all as the controllers fit on it with a little wiggling.

I was really quite disappointed after leaving my ps3 console on all night just to test it out, only to find that it did not charge either of the controllers plugged into it. I must have read the directions over a couple dozen times trying to figure out what I did wrong... However it would have helped if I could better understand or have some sort of visual instruction as well. The product it's self though is beautiful to look at although somewhat flimsy, the blue light and sleek black looks very nice. I am very sad and disappointed that this didnt work but I guess that's what you get for $8-10, not to mention that Sony ( being quite a stuck up company) did not make the product so I guess that just because its compatible with ps3 doesn't mean it's compatible with Sony . Ohwell.

Just received this package today, prompt delivery via Amazon Prime as usual! However in the answers section someone mentions that it comes with a power cord. Mine did not, however I was under the impression from reading the product description that it would be using my current PS3 cable so I was not disappointed.Cradle itself is fairly light which some people perceive as cheap, however the product itself is pretty solid. It does not feel flimsy, it also does not have any loose or poorly fitting parts in the charging stations primary structure. Both controllers fit fine and slide right onto the docks charging ports and stay very well due to the cradle angle (holds the back side up higher as if it would slide down towards the center of the base) The bottom of the station there is a clear 1/4 inch section which when plugged in has a blue LED's which light the area up. The blue LED's are bright enough to be noticed with the lights on during the day, however not so bright as to light up your entire room at night. The only negative thing I have to say about this product so far is that the actual port that the PS3 cable plugs into onto charging station is angled awkwardly which does not allow for a straight insertion of the cable. Just angle the cable and it plugged and sit in fine and snug. Slightly annoying but I don't believe its worth knocking an entire star off of what otherwise is an excellent product, especially at such a great price.

With a bit of trepedation resulting from the comments of other reviews I decided to take a gamble on this little device, little being the primary word. It has and contines to perform flawlessly. I found what I thought was a problem with the charger was actually a bad battery(two actually) I had two newer controllers that presented no problem. Seven bucks, I installed new batteries, and no more problems. I liken this to the "memory" of some batteries that when not fully discharged and not fully charged, over time develop a range of charge much smaller than originally established. If not fully discharged, the level of "charge storage" diminishes, not physically but internally as it establishes a new level of "fully Charged" capacity, coupled with age, leads to a battey that decreases playing time and other problems. Fortunately, a battery conditioner that drains completely, and recharges fully and goes through the cycle again will restore a substantial level of previous battery storage capacity, but I have never seen a unit for home use. I learned about the issue when confronted with chargeable two way radio batteries. New ones worked great, old batteries were unreliable and had life times from 10 to 20 minutes and up. We purchased a commercial Battery conditioner, and after a conditioning cycle, no problems, with near normal storage capacity. I say this only to point out controllers with built in batteries are possibily subjected to a similar senario. I have had power tool batteries that drained to the last amp available placed in a charger and would not accept a charge. I went back to my dealer and he told me it was not unusual. He swapped out and gave me a new one. I never drained one completely again. I have never experienced a battery failure of that nature again. All this being said, the unit has performed well for me, I reccomend it, love the blue LEDs' and use a 120 Volt to USB adapter so I don't have to plug it into my USB Port on "Slim". My problems were with internal batteries and I purchased new batteries here on Amazon (They are great and my primary source of purchases, especially if you take advantage of Prime Membership. Gotta love em') Installed them and never lost a beat. With Amazons after purchase assistance just about anything you buy the stamd behind it and have amazing customer service so it's not a gamble. Great so far.
