How to install the actuator:
1.Prepare to connect the two wires of the actuator to a 12 volt battery.
2.Red wire to the positive terminal and Black wire to negative terminal will make the actuator extend. To make it retract, just reverse the terminal connections.
3.To simplify the last step, you can prepare a reverse polarity relay or switch (not included) for the actuator. When you want the actuator to extend and retract, just press the switch.
4.Your actuator will hold its position when the power is off. It will automatically stop when reaches the end.
5.The actuator has pre-installed inner limit switch, it cannot be adjustable.
How to protect your actuator:
1.Please use the 12V DC power adapter.
2.The actual load does not exceed the rated load.
3.All the actuators have duty cycle, they are unable to work all the time without stop.
4.The actuator is not completely waterproof, please do.

I would like to know if i can get a replace for this item ? It would not work all the time, so i took it a part to find out that brushes didn't always make contact. I would like to know if i can a different brand. The commutator bar has a dead spot, When you stopped the motor it may stop on the dead area. Then it would not start back up.

Actuator top broke and pulled apart at far less than 990 lb. As previously stated by others, "the fixed end of the actuator is connected by 4 screws that go into the plastic gear casing. Guess what, if you try to pull a small load the screws pull out of their threads." Mine lasted about 9 months.

Seller states actuator is rated for 990 lb pull - however the fixed end of the actuator is connected by 4 screws that go into the plastic gear casing. Guess what, if you try to pull a small load the screws pull out of their threads. In the process of returning for refund, but you don't have to waste your time like I am. Actuator may be ok if only push with it, but you are depending on the plastic gear case to support the load. Another example of declining quality by sellers on this platform.

first the bushing end collapsed, I thought maybe something I did. I fixed that end, it was too weak added an internal piece of pipe and an exterior piece and thru bolted the two to the sandwiched original end. Works good except now the bottom screw connections to the motor pulled out completely, so I am going to have to make a new bracket to sandwich the motor to the bottom connector. Yikes. I have two other brands which I have not had any problem with at all. The motor and screw are tough but the attachments cant seem to handle the rated loads or less it seems.
