Your cart is empty. Wide Mouth J Bar Rack, Easier To Load And Unload. The product consists of an adjustable non-slip foam pad and a rubber base. The high-quality material selection ensures that it is non-slip, waterproof and sun-resistant.
The J-Bar Rack can be used to transport all kinds of water sports equipment, such as kayaks, canoes, surfboards, snowboards, windsurfing boards and various small sailboats.
The rack is made of steel pipe with a thickness of about 1.5mm. 8" long straps with 4 in total to support outdoor gear such as kayaks that are 36" wide and 75 lbs. Finished with a premium glossy gloss black paint finish that will stand up to harsh weather and harsh environments.
Remember that crossbars thicker than 1" or wider than 2.5" will not fit. It will fit most factory and aftermarket installed crossbars such as oval, square and flat, except round rails (old rails are within 2.5" wide and 1" thick).
You will receive 2 sets of brackets and required mounting accessories, instructions included. Through the splicing of the reduced diameter pipe and other pipes, and the use of pre-drilled holes on the pipe body, it is more firm and reliable after installation.

A bit difficult to put together properly. Need a bit of smarts to make sure the bolts go all the way through and engage the square holes. Very basic, but should work fine for lighter loads.

It took about an hour to assemble which I can reconcile with since it saved me at least $100 from buying brand name. Worked well to transport 2 kayaks about 15 miles round trip on the highway, but make sure you are really tightening the bolts when you install it on top of your car, a couple bolts seemed to loosen up during the ride (could be user error, but the racks just feel more flimsy than what I've had before). Overall though, you are getting a deal for what these cost!

I had a friend put the racks together for me. They were done and on my Kicks SUV within a few hours. The straps could be a lot better as once they are tightened down they start slipping. You will need to use ratchet straps for non slippage. But other than that the racks are great.

This rack holds my Perception Outlaw 11.5 kayak just fine! It was kind of a pain to assemble, needed a third hand to seat the bolts (I used my vice) but once it was together it mounted easily and it works great. I use my own straps since the ones that came with it seem a little small. Otherwise, very happy with this purchase.

When the box arrived, it looked like it had been retaped and there were a few missing pieces. Contacted the company through Amazon, they replied quickly and sent the missing parts right away. We are very satisfied with this purchase.

Had to resize the holes on the rubber base to get the heads if the carriage bolts seated or the bolts would spin while tightening them. Other than the assembly they are just fine.
