I originally thought it was junk. After installation, I saw that it was not symmetrical on the lens, and it wasn't really secure. I even almost lost it the first time I used it. Luckily, after I noticed it was no longer on my lens (during an outdoor walkabout), I found it in my jacket pocket. A couple of days later, I thought about it and figured that the lack of symmetry maybe meant that I hadn't completed the installation. Sure enough, a final, high-torque twist made it click into place and now it is very secure and also looks right on the lens!

The fit is too loose for my Leica D-Lux 7 camera. It can not be be tighten enough to be secure. It came off a few times without my knowledge. I don't know about other cameras but for this camera, I do not recommend. This cover has everything going for it but the fit. Otherwise, I would have given a five-star rating hands down.UPDATE 5/1/23. After reading Longbranch's review, I turned the cap beyond the tread limit until it bust or clicked. The thing clicked, and it now works! No worries anymore. I am giving it a 5 stars hands down.

This is one extremely rare case where the third-party product is better than the brand-name one! The caps works similarly , opening and closing automatically without issue as the camera is turned on and off. While not completely air-tight, the petals close better and let little dust in. They also close completely with a filter in place which is a huge benefit.

I purchased this JJC Auto-Lens Cap for my Lumix LX100m2.Actually those who used LX100 said that the Genuine Panasonic Auto-Lens Cap does not allow installation of ordinary lens filters with usual thickness. They told that the only one ultra-slim lens filter which can be used along with the genuine Panasonic Auto-Lens Cap was the Cokin Pure Harmonie 43mm Multicoated UV lens filter, which had known to be discontinued from the manufacturer. It was impossible for me to purchase the Cokin Pure Harmonie lens filter at my local shop. So I tried to purchase 2 other ultra-slim lens filter from Amazon US - i.e. the JJC ultra-slim lens filter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0744HGGPY) and YSDIGI ultra-slim lens filter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0765RPCBG). But none can be installed without having the lens cap partially open after turning off the power. So I purchased this JJC auto-lens cap for Panasonic Lumix LX100 and LX100m2. And I can use conventional 43mm B + W lens filters with it. One more merit of this auto-lens cap over the genuine Panasonic auto-lens cap is that JJC auto-lens cap has little gap when fully closed. The Panasonic auto-lens cap had slightly larger gap between the blades and it had also gaps around 6 hinges, which may mean that there would be greater possibility for dust or pollutants to go inside the lens cap.In the bottom line, this JJC auto-lens cap is slightly less expensive and has slightly lesser gap when closed. But, in the long run, I decided to use the genuine Panasonic manual lens cap with the genuine lens cap string. The reason for this was due to the fact that the auto-lens cap could be closed only after several minutes of use or only after power-off. I hated to let the lens cap open during that time. So I personally preferred to put the lens cap whenever I'd like to protect the lens filter. Anyway, if you want to use auto-lens cap, this JJC auto-lens cap may be a good choice for you.Picture 1 : JJC auto-lens cap is on the left, while genuine Panasonic autolens cap is on the right.JJC auto-lens cap has slightly narrower gap between the blades.Picture 2 : I could modify the Panasonic auto-lens cap using the routine black insulation tape to make the gap between the blades and the gap around hinges narrower. But I finally decided to use the manual lens cap.

Excelente diseño, acomoda un filtro protector UV en la rosca del lente y la bisagra inferior permite establilizar la cámara en una mesa o superficie plana. Desde luego el precio es mejor que el del artículo OEM.

The Fotasy LX100K Auto Self-Retaining Lens Cap bundled with two LCD screen protectors and a lens wipe/cloth is an EXCELLENT value. At only $17, it is considerably cheaper than the OEM Panasonic lens cap ($40!)--better yet, for that price it also includes two good-quality screen protectors and a lens cloth! The cap mounts securely on the LX100 and operates exactly as it should. Unlike the Panasonic cap, you can also squeeze a slim-profile lens filter underneath this cap and it will still be able to close. I don't use a UV/skylight filter on my camera the way some folks do for protection (in my mind, that's what the lens cap is for); however, I do use neutral density (ND) filters on my camera in bright sunlight so that I can shoot pictures and video at optimal settings for sharpness and shutter/frame rate. You only need one screen protector, but it's nice that this set includes a spare in case you don't get it positioned right on the first try. I found that the screen protector has very good transparency; it just disappears, as it should, and I had no trouble with air bubbles (of course, you need to apply it with proper technique, gradually working from one edge to the other as you remove the backing and press it into place). What more can I say? It works and it's priced at a great value! Highly recommended!

Definitely buy it. I take my LX100 everywhere from climbing mountains to street festivals and I needed something to protect my lens. So I debated leaving the UV filter on the camera and not ordering the cap but finally I broke down and got it. And I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner. Here's why...1. Offers better protection than the lens cap or UV filter because of its quality.2. It locks tightly on to the camera body (where the cover ring is located -not on the lens) so losing it or damaging the lens is not a concern3. You can put filters in front of the lens and the ACLX100 will close about 90% - It will not close 100% - but it doesn't bother me because I use my CPL filter sparingly.4. And probably a goofy reason to some but my camera looks "cool" and feels more "techy". Yes I know its a lens cap, but it feels like it finished "dressing up" the LX100.Now I will say the material is plastic and the Company Name and model number is stamped too large on the side for my taste (so with a little wiping with goof off cleaner that disappears, but this was not that big of a deal for me. Besides that what you see is what you get and delivery fast. Enjoy!!
