I have been converting my home from standard TV to 1080P high resolution. The video source is in the garage (Roku), where the satellite and network feeds come in. All TV's (five different locations in the house) get the same video in my situation.Because there are spare Cat5e cables and coax cables in the walls of the house, finding J-Tech's HDMI extender products was a godsend. I have used them for HDMI - over - Cat5e (Cat6 and Cat7 would work too but my house is older than that) and for HDMI - over - Coax. Both work flawlessly. One of my endpoints is a projector that blocked the HDMI's audio (projector's fault), so I tried the J-Tech audio splitter prior to the projector and again, that works flawlessly. Three J-Tech product types, one happy customer, extremely easy setup all around. Here's another thing though: I had a few technical questions. J-Tech's customer support was awesome - they answered all my questions completely, clearly, and in less than a day. Thank you Jewel! My one suggestion to J-Tech is to upgrade their product manual to address questions like mine (specifically: can you swap transmitters or receivers? yes. Can you drive multiple receivers from a single transmitter? no. How should I interpret the status LEDS on the receivers and transmitters? transmitter: red is good; receiver: green is good) And whatever else comes to their minds to make the user's life easier.I think some of J-Tech's devices can work with 4k video, although as an engineer I have always been dubious that 4k is much more than a marketing ploy compared to 1080p; the human eye is not that discerning except under closely and continuously monitored conditions.

Package received on time, but the contents were previously used. Very disappointing.Update on Aug 15th: Had it working fine for a couple of weeks, but yesterday the sound stopped working. It's probably too late to return it, but I will try.I would NOT recommend this!

These units worked perfectly for few days before the distortion lines in the picture started and then became worse making it very hard to watch. I have to return the units.

This unit stops working sporadically. I reported the issue early on and the fix for me was to unplug the transmitter and plug it back in. I just received the following response from Tech Support: "Unfortunately there's no real solution for this issue. If the unit is left idle for some times, it may require a power cycle to reintroduce the signal. One thing I can recommend is our remote control outlets that allow you to power on and off devices that are connected via a remote, I do understand if you do not want to go that route. I apologize for the inconvenience." - Buyer Beware. They won't refund me because it's outside the 30 day window. Bottom line is that the unit should just work as advertised.

Be forewarned that if you plan to use this with coax cables with F-connectors (standard cable TV connectors) you will need to buy BNC to F connector adapters, and some fit better than others. When I connected these units, I learned that you cannot feed this connection through a cable splitter. Also, while the picture quality was flawless, the sound will drop out at random times and then come back. There is no pattern to it. So if you want both picture and sound, this is not the best solution. I had assumed that I had received defective units, and exchange them for a new set, but the problem persisted with the new units. If you want both picture and sound, you may want to find an alternate means of sending the sound to your monitor.

It works great. Simple to set up. Simple to use. Maintains picture quality as far as I can tell (I'm just not that guy, sorry). I bought it to use my big screen TV as my second monitor for my PC. Worked like a charm.

We bought this Extender to replace a 4-year old wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver which worked well at the start but recently worked only intermittently, with the video feed going out constantly, or the picture turning green! We needed an extender to run the HDMI signal from a home theater receiver across a 17' wide room to a flat screen TV hung above a fireplace (a direct HDMI cable hookup would have required over 50' of cable from the home theater receiver up inside a wall, across an attic, and down to the TV, too long to assure a reliable signal). (We never had problems with the audio feed, since that played directly from the home theater receiver to surround sound speakers, not the TV's internal speakers.) We were advised by a techie (and confirmed with a bit of online research) that an HDMI/Ethernet extender would do the trick and so far, so good - great and consistent video, and no delay at startup as was the case with the wireless hookup. We're very pleased with this purchase (we also bought the J-Tech 150' Ethernet cable shown with the Extender on Amazon, although it was somewhat long for our purposes).
