The idea behind this lens cap is better in theory than practice. Why? The magnetic bond between this lens cap and the filter(s) beneath it is stronger than the magnetic bond between the filters and the lens. As a result, every time you try to remove this lens cap, you pull off all the filters underneath it too. Removing just the magnetic lens cap requires that you get one or more fingernails between the lens cap and the filter(s) underneath it to hold them down. The whole process is a fiddly PITA. And anyone wearing gloves can forget about it. They won't be able to separate the lens cap from the magnetic filters. Bottom line: The concept is great but the execution is lacking. Three stars.

I have recently upgraded to the Kase Wolverine product line of magnetic filters, so I picked up this lens cap to go with my 77mm set. The build is high quality as I've come to expect with Kase, and it fits the 77mm magnetic filter set perfectly.The one drawback I noticed is that most often when removing the lens cap, the magnetic filter comes off with it. It is a little bit of a pain to try to pry apart the filter and lens cap. However, for $25, I am happy that it fits and protects my expensive filters while not in use.

Bought this to work seemlessly with several Kase 77mm magnetic filters in the Wolverine and Revolution series of filters. Works efficiently. They pop on and stay put. Highly recommended.
