Kaweco's nib holder is probably the very best currently available. Made from two pieces of tooled aluminum, that screw together, the end result is a nicely weighted pen holder that has both heft and the ability to hold the pen with almost zero lateral wiggle. Whichever standard nib you choose to load, it is held by four interior springs that basically make your nib part of the pen itself. The tapered neck of the holder looks to be made from chromiun steel. A good choice being corrosion resistant and enhances the look of the holder. The sense you get while using it is precision and quality. Downshots? Yes, it is expensive, very much so. Yet, if looked after, I have little doubt that this holder will last a lifetime's use. I've used a Gillott Brothers ridged nib, along with a Mitchell oblique and Esterbrook professional nib with this holder. Each nib was held with no appreciable wiggle in the holder and felt good in the hand. If you're a pen & ink pro, this is the nib holder you should own.

Very nice. Don't know how they could screw this up. A little pricey but it should last forever so we'll see.

Clean and precise lines with a good capacity for a dip pen. Very good construction. Because it is so fine a point, it can be a little scratchy. Use a high-quality Japanese paper to lessen the scratchiness.
