It is recommended to vent the crankcase in open air by running the vent line up and out of sight beneath the tank. Helps in venting expelled oil from the cylinder heads. Works great on my iron 883 2019. Don’t let those nasty gases go back into your intake! Clean air in, dirty air out the exhaust. Simple and better for the motor over a long time.

I installed this on my 2005 Harley Sportster XL1200C. I don't know about these reviews saying that installation was "breeze." I'm not saying it was hard, but it wasn't easy.The tubes are thick and tough, and it's really hard to get them onto the banjo bolts and across the rocker to the left of the bike. The included y-connector was a b*tch to get connected, and the output of it is an odd size ~1/2in output. I'm not sure why they chose that size, but it won't fit the included tubing. I ended up getting a special PCV adaptor that reduced down to 3/8" so I could use a 2ft fuel line ($2.50) to route to the bottom of the frame.If I could do this over, I would ditch the included y-connector and just go with a 3/8" input with 3/8" output connecter from an auto parts store. Keep it simple.

This was a very quick install - I'm on a 98 dyna with a Mikuni HSR 42 carb and kuryakyn hypercharger. This kit replaces the breather kit that the kuryakyn comes with - however - it does not come with a spacer and I found that the gap between the carb and the engine is too large to allow the hypercharger to bolt directly to the carb. Other than that, it's a quick install, and if you run the oil hoses from the banjos up under the tank exiting near the triple tree mount on the frame, you shouldn't need an oil collection cup - gravity and air flow should keep the oil where you want it, in the engine.
