This is a precise balance if you use it correctly. Which also means if you are not using it correctly it has no way of knowing that and will show wrong numbers. Read the manual, follow the instructions, practice, buy some test weights, calibrate, prewarm, cover, etc. If you put in the work - it works! In retrospect, I wanted the extra capability, but don't need it and it is too much work for extra benefit, but that is just me. It is a scientific instrument, not a kitchen scale.
