These non-slip carpet & floor protectors are made well to us.We bought two of them for basement stair carpet protections.I like them for good tractions. They trap hairs. dirt and linens well. They are basically dirt and dust collectors for us.Then we dust the hairs and dirt off monthly to outdoor. They are easy to clean and durable for us so far. They are good buys and good values for us.We may come back to update to see how long they last in the end.

In a sentence, this product is flimsy, hard to work with, and not appropriate for use on hardwood; it may be fine for use on carpet, but I'm not going to bother to find out. The material is basically a thin, cheap, stretchy terry-cloth towel material, backed with light foam, ostensibly to make it non-slip. On wood stairs, it is impossible to make it lie flat and straight, and not curve and curl in at the edges, because it's so stretchy; and if you don't stretch it, it slips underfoot and bunches up, making it a trip/slip hazard on smooth surfaces. It would be safer to use actual cotton towels, which at least don't stretch. I had been looking, and hoping when I bought this, for a low-profile carpet runner, made out of a natural fabric and with some sort of backing to give it stability, that could be cut to fit a set of narrow wood stairs to prevent slips. This is not it.

Works nicely . Washes beautifully and protects my carpeted stairs . No children here so it stays in place fairly well. Not sure if that would be the case with children running around.

We have purchased multiple pieces of this carpet protector during the past 10 years to cover the steps from the kitchen down to the living room. We have 3 rambunctious little dogs, and since we are well over 65 we must consider safety in floor coverings. This stuff has been a blessing. We use Dritz Home 44009 Upholstery Pins, 2-1/2-Inch (30-Piece) to pin down the sides and one pin in the middle back of each step to ensure that it does not move. I believe with normal adult use the pins would not be necessary. We save the pieces that have grown worn with lots of trips through the washer to use on the bare wood floor in front of the back door. These old pieces are great to cover freshly-shampooed carpeting until it is dry. The only gotcha we have experienced is that dark colored shoes like Crocs tend to deposit ground in dirt on the edge of steps. Over time this becomes difficult to wash out.

So happy I got this to semi protect my carpeted stairs from my new cat and just in time too. Protects my new carpet from her hairballs and has made her less interested in using my stairs as a large scratchpad. I've washed several times on delicate without issue and it has held up.As others have complained, it doesn't firmly stay in place and requires readjustments every now and then, but that's not as much of an issue since it's only me. i can lightly vacuum it but have contemplated using carpet double-sided tape to help keep it in place. Also wish this came in more than just one color option, but of course, that isn't as important as protecting my carpet. I'd buy this again or in used condition despite these few shortcomings.

Use this on stairs to decrease wear from foot traffic, and also protect from spills of carrying coffee, drinks or food up and down. Isn't water proof, but sufficiently protects from stains nonetheless.Had one of these runners for years that got I don't know where, but than couldn't find replacement, so continued to use years more past it's expiration, had to of been more than a decade and the thing was disintegrating. Friend took pity and found it on here, but only got a 15' length, but than I was able to find it too, instead returning and ordering full length I just ordered extra 9' which was more than needed, but 6' was same price and though would use extra fabric something else. Though ended up just overlapping which worked nice. Having it in two pieces is little more manageable (when remove/replace for guests or cleaning) and not bad way to go.But 20' length would be sufficient one-piece for normal flight stairs. The cats loved to tangle themselves up in the old one, but after replaced, they have stopped doing that for whatever reason. I won't complain, less having to fix it.Read review complained of having straighten it a lot. I mean it is what it is, I guess it depends what kind carpet you have and the nature of the traffic on how well it will stay in place. the old one was having fix a lot because of cats, but sense I replaced it the issue has gone away. either way, I find it the only realistic solution for carpeted steps protection is my opinion from what I seen. But for clarity of what you get, these are lightweight, thin fabric on traffic side, and sort of thin foam on carpet side. As I recall the old one I had originally had sort of a rubber coating on the foam side that was probably suppose to increase grip but it wore off over the years from washing or use. This one didn't have that from start, they probably found it works better without, at least I think it does.

This runner is way way way too thin. The rubberized backing is even worse. The runner will not stay put on wood floors, it is too thin to offer any level of protection. When I wake up in the morning I have to re position the runner as my cats have it balled up at the end of the hall. Will have to find something that at least tries to provide protection to my wood floors.
