For $9.99, I don't think you can go wrong with this lock box.Will it be the safest? No.Will it withstand 60 minutes in a raging house fire while protecting its contents? No.The steel is not the thickest or the strongest, and the lock is very simple, but all things together will be effective enough to keep children or thieves out. That's not to say the latter wouldn't utilize various tools and open it successfully, but at least it will be a deterrent. However, I do think that given its small size, you run the risk of someone just taking the whole thing and opening it later.The powder coating is even throughout, but you can see some unevenness around the edges which is fairly normal on thinner materials.A bonus is that the space underneath the coin tray is large enough to fit a compact pistol (Glock 19 Gen 3 with optic) if you're looking for a simple bedside lockbox for home defense. The coin tray can be used to store small jewelry and will remain easily accessible.My use for it is primarily to store a handgun in combination with a trigger lock.

A durable black box with keys. Good for passport, money and jewelry. I use it as phone jail for my teen. It can fit two phones at the bottom. Lots of space.

We’ve had numerous variations of locking cash boxes over the years, and I think this one is my favorite, with the caveat that it is a diminutive size. (Check the measurements before you buy.) I can see using it for other uses, such as a storage box for crafts or household fasteners, too.My favorite features:• Rounded corners make it comfortable to handle, no sharp edges• Feels solidly made with a very sturdy tray• Smooth locking mechanism with two keys included• A recessed, rounded handle• The riveted hinges feel trustworthy• Easy to pack and carry sizeAs for the cons, I didn’t find anything significant. The smooth paint is thick and covers the box completely, but if you look closely, you can see the rivet spots and some minor texture in the metal.

Good size to store your important documents like your passport, ID, or cash. The box features a small tray for 6 areas presumably for coins. Though when I tested this area... the coins are not secure after the box is closed and actually jump slots if the box is accidently knocked over. Overall, it does the job of keeping your important documents safe. Came with two keys to lock the box.
