You probably won't see this on stage on a cross county arena tour, but if you're looking for a lighter duty, simple stand like I was, this might be perfect. It's lightweight and definitely transportable (the base isn't that heavy) but I wouldn't describe it as rugged. The metal quality is solid and the threading for each tube is precise. This is not the traditional type of stand with the twist lock to adjust the top tube inside the single bottom tube - rather, these are separate tube segments that screw into each other from the base then to a top adjustable tube. If you're mic'ing shorter sources, like a child or djembe, the fact that you can use the appropriate tubes only is significant to me. I don't like the look of an oversized stand with a downward angled boom. I think this gives the stage a cleaner look.While not the traditional stand built for the road, if you're in a controlled environment I think this is excellent.
