I think this is an awesome set for any level of artist. All the way from beginner to pro, this kit has all that you need. It is very functioning, and does not smear. The of the kit is impressive. You have all kinds of drafting pencils. It is perfect for drawing, writing, or sketching. Easy to use and has a lot of verity. Overall this is a great kit for any one wanting to start out or simply add to their supplies. It is a great deal for your money.

Before my review, I wish to state I received this item though Amazon Vine. However, I pride myself in my honest, unbiased, and detailed reviews.I have been an amateur artist since I was in high school, since that was longer ago than I would like to admit, it has meant I have had plenty of time to collect and use a variety of art supplies and kits. This one is actually one of the better art sets I have purchased over the years. It comes with decent quality paper, and enough of it that I can make plenty of sketches. It has multiple copies of different supplies, which allows for sharing as well as having spares and replacements, which matters to me since I am often more reluctant to use items I only have a few of. I don't see many kits that offer the larger diameter mechanical pencils, which is actually why I requested this particular kit. Since there are 3 of them, you can swap out any of them for the color options, which is useful. This kit would make a nice starter kit, or a good supplement for an artist who is interested in mechanical pencil drawing. The only issue I would have is its a little hard to change out the leads on the pencils if you just want to swap them. I like that the kit all fits inside a single box and pairs with the pad with only a band, this makes is pretty easy to carry with you and keeps it all together and secure. I really like the addition of the color leads and have already been experimenting with them. 5/5 very happy with this set.

Sweet gift for my 9 year old artist. He had no idea that there could be so many different styles of pencil. He has spent hours with the set and keeps on working through it. Paper was great and easy enough for a 9 year old to use.

I am so impressed with this sketching set. You definitely get your $ worth!The mechanical pencils all work well and I love the variety.Everything is high quality. The pencils are easy to sharpen and are comfortable to hold even for extended periods.My favorite are the colored leads however they are a bit of a pain to switch out. Not hard to do but annoying if you want to switch colors often. As much as I love the color lead variety, I wouldn't order this set for the sole use of coloring.Value you wise, Nicpro is always priced well. I have a couple of sets (brushes and a different pencil set) I've ordered before by Nicpro and have yet to be disappointed. Again, the quality is very good and you get a lot included.The photo I took shows the colors and lead sizes included. :)
