This is a dream kit for anyone who sketches or journals—whether casually or professionally. The variety of lead sizes is amazing, from fine details to bolder strokes, and the metal pencils feel luxe in-hand. I also love the sketchbook that comes with it—it’s thick, textured paper that doesn’t bleed or warp. I’ve been using this for everything from character concept art to handwriting practice with the kids. It’s practical and inspiring at once.

Technical drafting and drawing pencils that are of good quality are hard to come by at a decent price. This is by far an off brand set but the pencils work exactly the same as the expensive drafting pencils that I have. A little less quality and not as solid, but the function and work ability of them is identical.Arriving with 3 sizes of mechanical pencils (0.5, 0.7, 0.9) and three lead holder pencils (same sizes), and it comes with a plethora of leads in all three sizes and one set in color, all are HB quality.The pencils work great, they feed well and hold the lead in solid fashion. The pencils are a tad bit smaller than the pro versions I have, which adds a challenge to keep them in hand for longer periods. The lead from what I find is HB but the 0.7 that I have used most is easily broken, it's not as strong other HB leads that I have used.It's all well organized in the carrying case, and the case has snap in spots for each item. It does come with a sketch book as well which I honestly wasn't expecting. I haven't used the sketch book, so I can't attest to its quality. The pencils however, are really nice. Smaller in width, but I am very happy with these.This would be a great gift set for the up and coming artist. It has more than most people will use in several years unless they draw regularly.

I got this set as a gift for my teenager son. He loves mechanical pencils for school but has only ever used wooden pencils for sketching. I thought he might enjoy using mechanical pencils for sketching. He loved this set! He said the grip on the pencils was great. It is presented attractively and would make a great gift for any artist who enjoys sketching.

This kit has been my go-to when I have some down time for hobbies. I sketch for fun and stress relief as part of a class, they loved my pencils, especially the colored lead. Somehow I had no idea colored lead existed in mechanical pencil form, but it's pretty cool and is just like using colored pencils. Most of the lead in the kit (including the colored ones) is Number 2 sized like a typical school pencil. It gives good coverage and is normal hardness. So for folks like me who aren't technically trained or too well versed in lead types, the HB, 2b, 4b, and 6b lead packs are for the bigger graphite 2.0 pencils of course. The higher numbers are darker. I like the skinny 0.7mm for sketching fine lines like coloring page style. The sketchbook is also good quality, very good. I have some brush tip markers and used them to color in one of my sketches just to see how the paper held up. It help up great! No wrinkling or color transfer to the next page and NO I did not even put plain computer paper between the sheets. I love this kit and want another specifically for my travel bag so I can keep this at my craft desk. It would make a great gift for yourself or obviously any artist, the value is too good to miss out. Will add pics later

There are so many great things about this drawing set—it really exceeded my expectations. It arrives well-packaged in a sturdy plastic case that keeps everything organized and protected. A large elastic band is included to hold the box and drawing pad together, which is a thoughtful touch for on-the-go use.The set includes three technical pencils and three mechanical pencils, along with nine tubes of leads in six commonly used hardnesses for the technical pencils. You also get two tubes of colored leads. I especially appreciate the two high-quality sharpeners included for the technical pencils—they work just as well as my vintage German sharpener, producing an impressively fine point.I’ve included a photo comparing one of my vintage technical pencils with the Nicpro pencil from this set. They function very similarly, but the Nicpro version has a convenient rotating ring that lets you mark the lead hardness—a great feature when switching between multiple pencils with different leads.The pencils themselves have a nice weight to them. They feel comfortable and sturdy in the hand, with a textured grip that makes them pleasant to hold. The internal mechanism is smooth and grips the lead securely, and you can fully retract the lead for storage. They also include clips for carrying in a pocket, which is a nice bonus.The mechanical pencils come in three different lead sizes. They’re relatively lightweight but still feel solid, with a comfortable rubber grip. The kit includes three tubes of lead for each size, plus two tubes of eraser refills. The erasers perform well, even removing heavy 0.9mm lines cleanly. I haven’t tried the other erasers in the kit yet, but I’m looking forward to it.The included sketch pad is great quality—it erases cleanly without pilling or tearing, and the pages are spiral-bound and micro-perforated for easy removal.Overall, I’m really impressed by both the quality and variety in this set. For around $29, it’s an excellent value. And at the time of this review, there’s a 20% off coupon available, which makes it an even better deal.
