Interestingly, this repair tool worked amazingly at fixing our copper gasline pipes. I was pretty surprised at how well this straightened out our pipe, reducing a bunch of dents as well. Very easy to grip, unlike a different brand I had.

We run 1000's of feet of grease line every year in our manufacturing plant. We've been trying to get the 1/8" size straightener for over a year and its finally available in the US. We will update the review after we put a few hundred feed of copper tube though it. But so far so good!

I used this on some steel lines being mocked up for a restoration brake line run.As expected, the tubing fed into one end, and after a pass or two was mostly straight and allowed for more tubing in the length to also be straightened. So far I have really only used this on portions of a 25ft coil so I cannot comment on the overall long term reliability of this. For several feet of steel line, this worked perfectly. There is a 'case' of sorts that houses thje rollers and bearings inside of it; and that's the part you hold and use to work the tube. The inlet and outlet holes are larger than the diameter of tubing used and that allowed some of the gradual curve at the initial feed, to come out without obstruction, and work a bit further down the coil at one time.Quality of the guides and bearings felt really good. Peering thru the case, it doesnt have cheap rivets or lose parts inside to cause wear and play with use. One of the sides can be removed for cleaning and care over the life of the tool as well.I didnt have any lose play or poor bending back and forth using this straightener. You could see where I used it of course, but I only spent time for a few passes and not final straightness with what I was doing. As it worked for me, I would venture to safe a few more passes would have finished getting anything noticeable at all, out of the straightened length of tubing.Price was decent for one that isnt adjustable (sizes) in my opinion; a sizeable chunk of change compared to the other ones for 1/8" I was looking at. It was reasonable to me for the intermittent use I will have for this tool.Shipping was good and timely for me.

I received 5 of these Nuevo straightening can for review, 1/8, 3/16, ¼, 5/16 and 3/8. I got them for 0 cost other than doing reviews on them. I do not intend to let this sway my opinion of them. I am a small-time fabricator (retired from my real job, this is a hobby that makes me Jeep money) and have many tools to do the job. From welders (Miller Mig, Tig plasma oxyacetylene) to hydraulic tubing benders and tons of hand and power tools. I’m trying to set my background so you can decide the worth of my opinions. My last shop job was to do all new brake lines on a Pre-runner that my buddy is building. Mounted a new master cylinder and all four calipers and fab’ed all the plumbing in between. Spoiler alert: I wish I had these then. These Nuevo straightening cans are built well and look to be of high quality. They are sturdy and easy to grip when using them. The rollers, bearings and housing all look good. There are 4 rollers in a row on four side for 16 rollers total. These are what forces the tubing straight when you pass it through. So, this method works very well on short bends but will not straighten a slow curve. The tubing material also makes a big difference. The harder the material, the harder it is for the straightener to do its job as there is more spring-back. To bend a piece of metal (tubing in this case) you need to bend it past it’s elastic (spring back) and into its plastic (stays bent) properties. For different materials this means different degrees of bend. To straighten a bent piece of material, you need to bend it the other way past straight into its plastic region so it springs back to straight. Professional benders are adjustable to do this.I know, this is getting long and boring. I’ll try and finish it up. The can will take out a lot of the smaller radius bends but not the large radius bends. You follow up and do the large radius bends by hand and then come back with the can again to hit the small ones you just created. The small radius bends take forever to work out and this is where the time savings are.Yes, these are a little pricy but any well-made tool is. If these do not pay for themselves with the time you save, then they are probably not for you.I will be posting this review on each of the five items as they are all identical, just a different size.

This is a review of the Straightening Can Nuevo Auto Repair Tool - 1/8 Inch Tube Tube Straightening Tool Compatible with Copper, Stainless, Steel, Aluminum Tubing - for Bent and Tubing, Brake and Fuel Line. This is a review of The Straightening Can Nuevo Auto Repair Tool - 1/8 Inch Tube Tube Straightening Tool Compatible with Copper, Stainless, Steel, Aluminum Tubing - for Bent and Tubing, Brake and Fuel Line.I cannot count the number of times I needed this exact tool. Running fuel line or EVAP lines and buying the tubing in bulk, I had to use my hand or any other tool, vise comes to mind, to gently straighten out the lines and getting it close but no where near straight. My methos, before this, only offered an unprofessional look. Now, that will not be the case. The set up is very well engineered, designed and executed and will definitely step up my next job of doing this. The only thing, and I am sure they already have it or have it in the works, is a tube bender. I have an idea on a way to incorporate it too. Also, if all the available sizes had been included in this package. Or even have a way you can change out the slides. You can already open the “can” and the sleeves comes out.My only critique is something that keeps me from giving it a 5 star review and I am not permitted to speak about it but if that one issue was lowered these would be PERFECT.
