I got this for the "Star Light"/"Ocean Light" modes, thinking they would be something to help me relax as I fell asleep. I figured I would put on some gentle music and the lights would help calm me.What I got, instead, was a rave in my bedroom. The light is far too bright to be calming, with no way to decrease the intensity. Plus, if you don't want to use the remote, you have to use the "mode" button on the back of the unit to cycle through settings. So my bedroom ceiling started flashing weird colors and patters. I can only wonder what it looked like from outside!Speaking of the mode button, would you believe there is no "OFF" mode, or switch? The only way to turn this bugger off is to unplug the cable! I would think I had turned it off, as the unit suddenly stopped emitting light, only to give a sigh, light up my room again, and realize it was on audio response mode! Argh!!!!I'll only knock off two stars, because I guess my intended use was a bit specialized. It IS intended to light up a room after all.But why include "calming" settings, if the unit is incapable of inducing a calm feeling??

I had no idea how much these LED lights would change the atmosphere of my get-togethers. I bought them to liven up a dinner party with friends, and they ended up being the life of the party.Setting them up was super easy, and what I liked most was the remote control: I can change colors, effects, and modes without having to get up. It has a dual-head design that projects lights in different directions it feels like I'm in a club!I even use it when I'm alone listening to music because it adds a different touch to the mood. Importantly, it's quiet, and the lights are bright but not too harsh on the eyes.

I highly recommend purchasing this small dj light if you are looking for something to light up your party! There are so many different light options and love the water/ocean light.
