I used 3 layers of duct tape to dim down the light. Still shines bright with it covered. The nvg auto gate will kick on 100% indoors if it's not covered.

$16 For just one is a rip off.System works fine and even my gen1+ ir goggles can see it at a distance.I'm going to get more just not from what ever college fund seller it was.

It is a direct replacement for the RIF issue. I had lost mine and was turning everything in. Didnt want to pay a huge amount so I went off Amazon.

Bad description. Picture shows three and only one IR light is shipped. Very disappointed.

It was suggested that the IR flash could be seen a long ways off with a digital camera or night vision equipment. After 75 yards the flash is so faint it is imperceptible. Still in search of a bright battery-powered IR strobe visible at 300 yards.

This IR strobe is pretty cool and works good too. we used them often in the Marines. this one is good and is bright (w/NVG's), plus you can set a flash pattern it a coin or key.
