pop it out, and those hairballs 20 feet down the drain snake out in 10 minutes, rinse and replace. Mind you the removeable plug catches hair too, but easy to put on a pair of gloves and blast with garden hose... Let it dry and spray plunger with HEAVY silicone spray while cycling plug..., and put fresh plumbers grease on outside o-ring. good-to-go. I keep extras on hand so tenants get a freshly lubed plug each time. 15 minute cycle time on bath sink drains...

This product did not fit the sink hole properly. The sink drain washer bevel, which is supposed to fit into the hole in the sink, was too big for the hole, so the bevel did not begin to fit into the hole which caused it to leak no matter how many times I redid it. If the sink drain washer fits all of the modern sinks then consider making it to fit a sink that is a little older. My home is only 4 years old. You don't buy a replacement for a new sink you buy one for an older model, so design accordingly.

When button is pushed down, it does a good job of keeping sink filled with water. When button is in the up position, the sink drains at a good pace as long as the stopper head piece is positioned at just the right height. It seems the head piece must be pushed down firmly as far as it will go. (It helped me to unscrew and take off the round top cover, then push the head piece cylinder down in the drain assembly until it stopped, and finally screw the round cover back on.)Be aware that the tailpiece that comes with the product is only 4" long, so measure your existing tailpiece before deciding to order. I had to buy a longer tailpiece compatible with this product and a tall J-bend to make this work with my sink. Thankfully both these additional products were available on Amazon (tailpiece: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BNR6NYQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details; J-bend: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T8JFTWC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details).Installation instructions weren't complete enough. They didn't mention that it's essential to use thread tape to prevent leaks around the nuts (see photo). I had to do my installation a second time for this reason. The build quality appears good. After taking all the above steps, and now that I've had the product for a month, I'm pleased with it. It's a much better solution that the rod-and-lever type of pop-up drain. (The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the installation issue.)

I have read some of the comments and was surprised. I put one in to see how well it would work and easy of installation. Lets just say I purchased 5 more to replace the rest of my sinks. SUPER Easy to install (read some comments that said it was hard), I spent more time demo of the old sink drain mechanism then installation of the new pop up drain. For all 6 drains I probably only spent about 2 to 3 hours, so 30 minutes on average. Highly recommend this project.

The most I like it is removable top giving you very easy access to clean. DON'T FORGET TO BUY SILICON.

Good brass heavy fabrication. Purchased brushed nickel product. Like the way the pop up pulls out for cleaning around the flange area. Instructions may not have been clear, but it's a pop up drain. Used stainless plumbers putty under sink flange instead of thin rubber gasket. Also applied #5 pipe thread sealant to contact surface of big gasket under the sink for guaranteed leak-proof contact. Be sure to use pipe thread tape on tailpiece threads.
