This item was arguably better than the original as it contains less metallic parts, and the plastics appear to be of high-quality. I installed this in my 2010 Honda fit two years ago and it has worked perfectly since.

Inexpensive way to fix the dreaded rusty hinge pin. It is a bit of a chore to replace but the part installs easily and works great!

My 2007 Honda Fit hatch failed to open after years of trying to lubricate the hatch handle. The hinge pin of the handle had corroded badly from rust belt road salt spray. The handle on left side of photo is the new one after prepping. The handle on right is original with rusty pin partly removed. This aftermarket handle is pretty much an exact replica of the OEM.I removed the original handle and was going to drive out the pin, sandblast it, lubricate and reinstall. Some of the plastic hinge supports had cracked and I decided it wasn't worth fixing. This part is about one third the cost of the Honda OEM part and appears to be every bit as good quality. I lubricated the four friction points where the steel hinge pin goes through the plastic support bosses with white lithium grease and then smeared anti-rust grease on the visible shiny parts of the new pin, rotating the pin with needle nose pliers to coat all the way around the pin. I predict this is the last hatch handle I'll ever need and it works better than when the car was new.

it feels a little cheap, and the bracket doesnt quite line up to the cable lock, which drags the cable crooked, but it opens the door every time, and that is a lot more than I could do before.
