When I happened to see this, I had to test it on one of my dogs. I have a young Pitbull that loves to chew on things, and has destroyed Tennis, Baseballs, Softballs, and all kinds of other dog toys I have given to her. I used to have other balls that lit up, and I had to throw them out. She is just a destroyer, but I love her and this ball has not let me down yet. Even after a month of of her chewing, playing fetch with this ball, This has become her favorite toy. Now, the only problem is trying to get her to let go of it, so I can charge it...lol.The rubber is quite tough, and it protects the plastic inside. The switch, and the type C plug seems to be pretty good, not crappy. It is motion activated, and when it sits still, it will blink letting you know it will shut off until it gets moved, if so it will light up again. The battery lasts quite a long time before it needs to be charged again.I like this ball, and I might get another one for my other dogs since my Pit does not like to let this one get away from her lol... I highly recommend this ball for any Cat or Dog IMO.

Update Jun 12, 2025:Ok, here's a potential problem - I'm not taking a star off for it yet. I realized this evening that 2 hours after we had been playing with the ball, it was still doing the slow flashing. So I'm thinking it might be necessary to turn the ball off when not being used, or it might drain the battery...***********************Jake gives this 4 paws up (and 1 tail)! As soon as it came out of the box, he wanted to keep it. I had to take it from him to charge, but I was pleased to see that it was fully charged quickly.A big plus - it is really easy to unscrew. It seems to be equally split on both sides, so grabbing one hand on each side of the ball and twisting opens it easily. Then you can turn it on/off, and charge it with USB-C.Flip the switch to on, put the ball back together and throw it - and the light comes on. Then it switches over to flashing (that way if it falls in a pile of leaves, or under the brush, you can still have a chance to see it).The package arrived with a USB-A to USB-C cable. I verified that the ball also charges with a USB-C to USB-C cable.

This ball is pretty heavy for the size, but the lights are great for playing fetch outdoors!Just make sure that your dog doesn't get a lot of time alone with it, as it's definitely not a chew toy and will not stand up to aggressive chewing.

My pups love this thing! This ball charges from the inside, because of that, you will need to open it up to charge it. THis is important because this is not for active chewing as given enough effort, a pup could open this. Other than that, this ball is super fun to play with! Summer is here now, but I look forward to continue fetch when the long nights arrive
