I am using a lead-acid battery as a backup for my 12V shop supply.I know there are arguments against using car batteries for power supplies, but more of the new batteries are sealed, and I have run enough tests to conclude that price counts. One is sold as a general battery, and the other is sold as a specialty battery, so guess which one is more expensive.I am satisfied with a sealed lead-acid battery because I don't like the risk of sulfuric acid, and I don't want to maintain it.Current capacity vs price difference is significant.I tried connecting some heavy-gauge wire to the lead posts using a hose clamp, but it quickly corroded, so I decided to get some good clamps. These are outstanding, from the packaging to the heavy insulated coverings to the included extras—as professional as it gets.If you are expecting to get something similar from your local hardware store, good luck. It's heavy and it's rugged, even down to the quality of the nuts and bolts.I like building something of this quality because I know I will probably never be back to service it.

Don't look at my pics too much. The project isn't done! These are well built, great value and thick! Super easy to install. I just needed to get these on and then I'll replace my factory wiring with 0/1 Guage wire for my Big 7 install. Covers stay put, have plenty of room for large or multiple wires, terminals are labeled + and -. My batteries positive post was ever so slightly larger near the base so the terminal didn't go down all the way but is only raised by a millimeter or 2. No way noticable. I may install a lock washer on the wiring bolt just for insurance but no one's complained about a nut going loose.I will update with pretty pics when the install is done.

They are quite heavy duty and large and seem to be strongly built. the covers are made of silicone but I probably won't use the covers as I am using a small battery and the covers are quite big and overpower the visual look of the battery package.. I'm using them on a custom build in a Datsun 510)... I like them

The terminals are a bit large for just replacing an old set from the factory. I had 3 wires to fit to my positive so they were helpful. I had trouble soldering the included ring terminal ends so I ended up crimping these on instead. The rubber/silicone covers are of good thickness and didn't feel cheap or tear under mu cable management. All in all worth the price tag.

Theseare tapered and they fit onto battery terminals way better than your standard cheap batter cables. They're super easy to tighten and loosen, you don't have to crank them down to get a good connection like the cheap terminals. I haven't even had it lose ground even just sitting the untightened terminals on the battery and cranking. The dual bolt design allows you to easily add extra wires without creating a mess of stacked connectors and it just looking bad.The lugs they came with crimped nicely. The silicone covering wasn't my favorite but my specific application is in a bit of an odd location with multiple thick gauge cables so it'll probably work fine on regular installs
